Last year, the Baskets TV show on FX drew very low ratings but the cable renewed this dark and offbeat comedy for a second season anyway. Months later, Louie Anderson won an Emmy for his role on the show. Could this attention bring in new viewers and/or ensure that Baskets will be renewed for a third season? Or, will the numbers fall low enough so that the series is cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
The Baskets TV series revolves around a struggling clown who lives in Bakersfield, California. Chip Baskets (Zach Galifianakis) dreams of being a classically trained French clown but things don’t work out for him when he goes to study in Paris. Chip moves back to his hometown and is forced to confront his past while working as a rodeo clown and dealing with his judgmental family. The rest of the FX cast includes Louie Anderson, Martha Kelly, Ivy Jones, Garry Clemmons, and Jason Clemmons.

What do you think? Do you like the Baskets TV series on FX? Do you think that it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I love this show and I didn’t think I would even like it! It’s oddly addictive and hoping to see a season 3 and 4!
I’m really not into series on tv, however I watch Baskets every week. I personally think the show should be longer. Just watched the Series 2 finale, and Season 3 absolutely should happen. It needs more exposure. For the amount of people watching, are consistant. Zach and Louie work well together in the series.
Keep Baskets!
HBO doesn’t let Louis CK do the things he wants to truly give us his signature style that we have all grown to love, and FX just doesn’t have the viewerships. It sucks because the man is a genius.
I LOVE Baskets! I feel lucky, as a viewer, that FX gave Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K. a chance with this show. It’s genius. I’ve laughed and cried over Baskets, I love the story and I love the acting. Anderson seems to be playing the role he was always meant to play, and Galifianakis is brilliant, just a brilliant comedic actor. There’s a reason you see Zach in so much stuff – because he’s great. It’s amazing to watch him play two characters with two vastly different personalities, he does it so well. This show leaves a long lasting impression… Read more »
I enjoy Baskets but I think many do not know about it. It is clever and the characters are quirky and really good. the humor is subtle.
Just watched this for the first time a few weeks ago. Love this show so much. I wasn’t a huge fan of Galifianakis before, but now I am. Louie Anderson is AMAZING !! I certainly hope for more to come after Season 2.
What a shame it will be if this gets cancelled, its a great little show. We need need more shows like this not less, tv is filled with false “reality” and detective rubbish. I hope fx want to keep Louis Ck sweet and keep the show going
I think the show is hilarious and am really hoping for a season 3. It definitely needs more exposure b/c I think this show has potential to do well. It just needs to do a better job establishing an audience.
My boyfriend and I LOVE Baskets!!!! Please do not cancel it!!!
Love this show!!! The cast is great!!! Fun and quirky.
This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time! Louie Anderson is more than awesome!
I just recently discovered this show. Is it a jewel in the ruff? I’m still scratching my head thinking “what the heck is this?” I’ll watch an episode, than watch it again. I’m not sure if it’s pure genius, or I forgot my meds today. Only time will tell.
I feel like this show should be on HBO as an offbrand kinda comedy like curb your enthisiasm. This show would fair well if it had more exposure.
Keep this show going, it deserves better than its ratings.
I am in my 60’s and a midwestern (rust belt). I am one of the invisible television viewers. No one knows for sure how many viewers watch a show. It is an estimate. I say there should be a season three IF the writers think the story has more to be told.
