AMC has great expectations for the Better Call Saul series. They’ve already renewed it for a second season so fans won’t have to worry about it being cancelled for quite awhile. But, will this show be a success in the ratings? Stay tuned.
A prequel to the Breaking Bad TV series, Better Call Saul is set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White’s lawyer. The rest of the cast includes Jonathan Banks, Michael McKean, Patrick Fabian, Rhea Seehorn, and Michael Mando.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.21 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you still like Better Call Saul TV series? Are you glad that it’s already been renewed for a second season or should it have been cancelled instead?
This show is choppy and is really not funny comedy. It feels forced and I fell the writers can’t make up their mind between writings comedy or “rags to riches” like BB. Personally I feel the overall storyline underachieves and the characters are not original (been there done that feeling; if you were a BB fan) It just doesn’t catch my attention and seems to drag through uninteresting storyline one episode after the next. In fact I am watching it right now and I …….. Snoooooooooooooooore …. Huh? … Who cares, over this show
You are all kinds of right abt tht!! I adored BB, very wild/crazy/interesting story.. And BCS is not even in comparison. BB was a hit, BCS was a miss. I still like the characters just not the story. It’s almost impossible to follow behind BB with a show like BCS, it’s actually hurtful to sit through. I’d rather watch BB from start to finish.
This is a fine show and I’m glad it’s been renewed. Odinkirk has done a spectacular job of taking us deeper into Jimmy/Saul, his relationship with his brother and the trail of challenges that led him to his sleeze ball practise, destined to meet a cancer stricken chemistry professor.
The wife and I don’t figure in the usual demographics..we’re 77 and 81, but we thoroughly enjoy BCS and were disappointed the season ended. I quickly googled it to see if it had been cancelled or renewed. Now we’re happy to see it will be returning. The character development in Jimmy/Saul is quite interesting when held up against the man he portrays in BB. I assume each succeeding season (if there are more) will continue his development as it comes closer to the BB timeline. But what happens when we arrive there?
The videography is outstanding, like BB, and the depth of character development for Saul is incredible. We can’t wait to see more, especially Jimmy’s character v his brother, Chuck! This show is a definite keeper, especially compared with all the shallow dramas currently out there!
love it– pourmoney into it and all will love it!!!!
Loved BB and loved Saul’s character. Sadly, I’ve really tried to get into “BCS,” but I lost interest quickly. It just doesn’t have the urgency or depth of the original series. The little call-backs to the original show are nice, but seem dated and a bit sad, reminding us how great the original series series was, and how it will be a long time before we see something that great again. I’m assuming the series is being cancelled, now that Odenkirk has re-joined with David Cross for a new comedy series.
absolute best show on TV, hands down
Love this show! Very interesting story lines – I like Saul a lot better in this series than BB – love that they have developed his character – much more sympathetic. LOVE IT!!!! Want more!
Have not seen breaking bad. We saw the previews to this show and decided to give it a try. Glad we did, big fans of the show…. Would have been nice to have more than 10 episodes! Time flew by!!! Give us more!!!
I was a huge fan of Breaking bad and Saul was the most interesting character of all the characters from that show. In my opinion he was the only reason to watch BB and I’m quite impressed with Odenkirks performance in BCS! Saul’s former self, Jimmy is a hustler or grifter if you will.. And makes for quite an interesting backdrop in the story. While some see an uninteresting short game hustler turned lawyer, I see an individual with much drive and tenacity, which in my opinion fully explains how Jimmy morphed into this character we all know as Saul.… Read more »
definitely loved saul in breaking bad but in that show I have to say that pinkman and white were my favorite characters with saul a close third. Without saul I don’t think BB would have been as good.
I think saul will work long term as a spin off. The supporting actors are all great and the story line isn’t bad for a start. I’m already hooked and the show has definitely exceeded my expectations by miles,
Love this show! May I remind the negative people that the first season of breaking bad was for many not as great as the rest of the show? I think Gilligan has unique story telling skills, and has used a complete season to get very deep into the backgrounds of Saul and Mike. I personally liked this very much, with each episode adding a layer to the personalities. I think we will see a lot more “action” in season two. By the way, you shouldn’t see this as Breaking Bad 2, but as a different show. If they wanted to… Read more »
I LOVE this show! Please don’t cancel!
Not Breaking Bad. Just Bad. I’m kind of a typical BCS viewer, I think. I gave it a go based on how good Breaking Bad was. I knew that it was probably a poisoned chalice to be a spin-off of a successful show, because you’ve got to do something new and fresh but still keep fans of the original happy. I think BCS did manage to go in a different direction to BB. But not in a good way. These long, slow, boring story arcs about Saul’s brother’s weird issues with electricity, and his own uninteresting past as a petty… Read more »
I believe your statement that you are a typical BCS viewer is presumptuios. The BB viewers that I know say that it is every bit as good as BB.
Agree 100% with Rachel, Saul is a fun character but the reality of such characters is that tend to be a little flat and can’t carry a show. I was really optimistic about BCS, and the introduction and development of Mike’s story is a series high point, but other connections to BB don’t work nearly as well. The Tuco cameo is just awkward and portrays Tuco as a complete moron, a silly caricature of his role in BB, leaving me to worry that not only will BCS fail to live up to expectation, but it may tarnish BB’s prestigious legacy
I completely agree, I wanted this show to be a hit so badly, but sadly disappointed. I thought I would get the same element of surprise, and excitement but I was just so surprised at how horribly different the show was compared to BB….RIP BCS please….
