Once upon a time, Beverly Hills, 90210 was a big hit for FOX. Now the network has revived it as the BH90210 TV show, but this revival is actually a reboot — with a metafictional twist. A FOX comedy-drama, BH90210 stars Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling. Instead of playing their old Beverly Hills, 90210 characters, the actors play highly fictionalized versions of themselves reuniting to reboot the original series. Revisiting the past creates more soapy drama than is present in the show-within-the-show. When first loves, old flames, friends, and enemies reunite and try to pick up where they left off, anything can happen.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. I was a huge fan of the original 10 seasons, they’re like friends to me. Every week I felt like I was hanging out with my friends. I love this new approach , it completely works. Keep my friends coming for more seasons!
I was a dedicated original 90210 viewer and I love the reboot! We are all older now and it’s fun to watch the cast back together again! They make me laugh and I hope there is a Season 2! I’m not ready for BH90210 to be over yet! ❤❤❤❤
I will always support my favorite show. Love that they are all back together. I definitely want more!! I’m thinking and hoping that this first 6 episodes is to get us up to speed of them then and now so that they can actually start playing their 90210 characters and really get our show going again. That would be amazing!
BH90210 needs to be renewed without a doubt! Finally a reboot that takes on the lives of the actual actors playing themselves – what a welcome change!
I believe the numbers are going down because everyone was so excited to have this cast back together and when we found out it would be over so quickly it just made us want to not watch. You don’t bring back something that we have all dreamed about for 6 episodes and then be done and really 6 episodes … that’s not even a real show.
