CBS has found a young Sheldon. Deadline reports Iain Armitage and Zoe Perry have joined the network’s Big Bang Theory spin-off.
From Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Jim Parsons, the sitcom prequel “is described as a Malcolm in the Middle-esque single-camera family comedy centered on the child prodigy Sheldon (Armitage) character at age 10. He lives in Texas with his older brother George, fraternal twin sister (Missy), their mother Mary Cooper (Perry), an overtly devout Evangelical Christian; and father George Cooper, an alcoholic who was never around.”
Armitage, who currently appears on HBO’s Big Little Lies, will play young Sheldon. Meanwhile, Zoe Perry has been cast as Sheldon’s mother, Mary. The casting is not by chance. Perry is the daughter of Lauri Metcalf, who plays Mary on The Big Bang Theory.
The popular CBS comedy is still in negotiations for an 11th season.
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Big Bang Theory? Would you watch the Sheldon spin-off?
Why not have all of them have their own episodes as kids instead of just Sheldon?
Just not interested in a young Sheldon spin-off. At least not a full series. Why not just do a special event-type thing, where it’s a limited series or let the concept be screened via flashbacks in a few episodes and let audiences decide if it’s something that they’d want to see more of in a full series. Because it just doesn’t seem necessary.
I would definately watch it. If it’s as funny as the Big Bang Theory, it’s sure to be a hit.
I will probably watch it, but it probably won’t make it.
