TV show description:
An apocalyptic drama from Karl Schaefer and John Hyams, the Black Summer TV show is — according to some — a prequel to Z Nation, a cancelled Syfy series created by Schaefer and Craig Engler (which Hyams worked on). According to others, it is an entirely unconnected zombie series from essentially the same team.
Either way, the story unfolds during the early days of the zombie apocalypse, or at least a zombie apocalypse, and follows the survivors of that cataclysm, as they fight their way to the stadium serving as a military evacuation site.
The series centers on Rose (King), a mother who was torn away from her daughter. There’s nothing Rose will not do to reunite with her child. She and a ragtag company of American refugees must battle through brutal conditions during a summer of hell.

What do you think? Do you like the Black Summer TV series? Should this Netflix TV show be cancelled or renewed for another season?
Please DO NOT CANCEL this show! I loved it and have been anxiously waiting its return.
I watched the whole thing patiently thinking, “maybe it will get better.” It did not. It’s your average, run-of-the-mill, carbon copied zombie show. It’s slow, uninteresting, and all of the “gore” ends in a cutscene. This might have been acceptable if it had an interesting ending, but that was not the case either. I would not suggest this series for anything more than a comedy, although even then I’d suggest avoiding it. Don’t waste your battery life or time on this.
