Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

Best drama on TV. Hope it is never cancelled! Gives you hope that family values, honesty and decency will return to our messed up world.

Really enjoy this show. It brings family traditions back up front. Would love to see Jami and Edy pursue their love. Danny sing???? Keep doing whathis you are doing. This show and entire cast is awesome!!!!

I watch the episodes all day Thursday, hoping for some new ones and look forward to the Friday night episodes. I truly enjoy this type of police story because of the family orientation and religion. Hope it gets super ratings and stays on tv for a longer time.

This is my number ONE choice show on TV now. I watch the reruns over and over. I would really like to see Season 1 #1. The cast is perfect and the writing is most interesting. I do think there is too much alcohol.
Love the show but get irritated every time Danny tells his sons not to snitch. What is the difference between a snitch and being a good citizen? If nobody tells the truth about wrong things happening the bad guys win. They take over and hurt everyone! Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. This is attributed to Edmond Burke. As a cop Danny should at least tell the brother doing wrong “You know better than to break the rules!” Why would Danny expect strangers to talk to the police if doesn’t want his own family to report someone breaking the… Read more »

Blue Bloods is one of the finest shows to come down the pike in a long time. The characters are all very well portrayed and the story lines are excellent. Thanks for renewing for another season. As has been said, “please keep it running!!”
I believe this is the best show on television today. We also get re-runs on Thursdays. I start watching when I get home and then set the sleep timer for 3 hours after I go to bed. I’ve purchased Season 1 thru 5 and intend to purchase Season 6 when it comes out. We have a lot of law enforcement in our family and this show is a really good portrayal of a law enforcement family and their daily lives. I absolutely love the family dinners. My husband and I totally love this show which is the only one we watch. We record it and have date nights to watch.
Thank goodness for another season of Blue Bloods it’s a great series with excellent story lines,not to be missed.
