Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

I love the show. Watch it on Fridays and every day in re-runs in the Toronto market. The casting is perfect and the show deals with relevant issues that effect us all. Hope it continues for many years to come.Thanks CBS.
I LUV Blue Bloods!!!! One of my very favorite shows. I also watch reruns over and over again. I wish the season was longer (sorry actors).
Just love to watch BLUE BLOODS. Every actor does such a good job. We love Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynihan, Will Estes, and every other actor and actress in the series. There isn’t an episode that we have missed. We also like to watch Jesse Stone.
This show reminds of my childhood in a very traditional German catholic family, heck I say grace with them. It also reminds me of an america that once was and may someday be again. Obviously one of my favorites as long as it is on I will continue to watch.

Blue Bloods is one of the few TV shows today that its stories present strong determination to accomplish objectives despite difficult and often unfavorable odds. It is also family-focus and the parental units are not portrayed as incompetent buffoons. In my humble opinion, we need more TV shows like this that does not compromised with today’s political correctness. As long as the power to be continues with the current ethos and characteristics, I hope Blue Bloods would stay on for many seasons to come.
I’m happy its been renewed. For than ever we need to continue supporting blue lives and most of all I enjoy old fashioned family Friday night show with current issues. Been watching the show since Season 1.

We enjoy watching Blue Bloods. In fact, we first found it in a rerun and got hooked on the show. I love the way it portrays a close-knit family and their interactions with each other. Only wish the show could do a flashback with the family when the wives were alive and the children were little like the home movie that was shown once. So glad it was renewed!

Blue Bloods is one of the best shows on TV. It is gritty and realistic, and very New York in character. It is the only show my wife and I watch together and both enjoy. I hope it lasts for 20 seasons.
I started watching blue bloods on netflix. I’m hooked and obsessed. So happy there are 7 seasons so far as I am still on season 3. Please keep this on for many more seasons to come so long as the original cast stays on. Bring back Danny’s original partner. She was awesome.
Blue Blood is one of my favorite programs. Tom Selleck has always been one of my favorite actors.However I was watching the episode Knockout Game. I noticed while they were in the conference room the Chief and all the deputy chiefs were all Caucasian and one female,but not one black. In fact not many folks of color in any episode, I just thought I would mention my observation. I love watching Blue Bloods! The family values and the earth they have for each other, it’s quite heartwarming. I would like to see some romantic interest with Jamie and his partner is quite attracted to him. It’s up to the writers. Keep it going as everyone is great in their roles.
I always watch Blue Bloods, and glad they didn’t cancel the show. It is all of what everyone says it is and more. Every actor in this show goes the extra mile to give their part that deserves it’s cue. The cast, producer, and writers are brilliant, sharp, and put all they have into it being serious, or funny at times depending on what that program is all about.
