Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.

We are so glad to hear that Blue Bloods is returning for another season. It has become one of our favorite shows on TV. We only started watching it a couple of years ago and have been able to go back and watch every season from the onset. We are neither Irish or Catholic but enjoy the faith/family aspect of the show. Thanks for keeping it going.

Great news…..my favourite tv series by far ……hope it comes to UK as soon as possible. I think I have seen every episode at least 3 times.
I am a major TV aficionado. I have always loved cop shows most of all, going way back to the Dragnet days. And I absolutely love Blue Bloods. Although I don’t feel it is as good as Hill Street Blues (the best cop show ever, and possibly the best TV show of all time), I still feel it is terrific. And it is very special in that although it is mainly a cop show, I feel that it advocates more for family values than any other show of the last decade. I hope it lasts for many more seasons.
I enjoyed watching each and every episode . I even watched the repeats on Amazon Prime. I love seeing the street of my hometown and identifying the locations.

We enjoy watching Blue bloods every week and we are excited about CBS returning Blue Bloods for a seventh season. As a fan for years of the show, I would personally like to see Eddie/Jamie’s relationship grow in season seven. (Enough already… it’s time they get together!)

Can’t wait till season 7 my husband and I keep watching the reruns some we remember some we don’t and we haven’t missed one. We started watching all the reruns from season 1 to 6 that they show on WGN. We love it!
