Fans of Blue Bloods can expect a lot more family dinner scenes at the Reagan household. CBS has just renewed the family police drama for a seventh season which will air as part of the 2016-17 television season.
A staple of Friday nights, Blue Bloods revolves around the Irish-American Reagan family and their work as part of the NYPD. The cast includes Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Amy Carlson, Sami Gayle, Vanessa Ray, Nicholas Turturro, and Marisa Ramirez.
The 17 episodes that have aired as part of the (current) sixth season have averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.57 million viewers.
That’s down slightly from last year’s averaged but Blue Bloods continues to do well for the network, especially considering its 10pm on Fridays timeslot. It’s currently CBS’ fourth most-watched scripted series (behind NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, and NCIS: New Orleans).
Today, the network announced 2016-17 season renewals of 10 other shows as well — 2 Broke Girls, The Amazing Race, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Survivor.
What do you think? Do you like the Blue Bloods TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a seventh season? How long should this series continue?
I sent in a previous reply but don’t see it posted. I needed to let you guys know you did everything right with this series. I love the entire casts but really love Dannys role. He is such an awesome actor. He puts you there as it you are living room every scene. He is such an awesome actor and great attribute to this show but please know every actor on this series is perfect for this show. Please never cancel this series. They make my evening!
I failed to mention in my previous comment how much I love the family dinners and loyalty that lies there this is there only detective show I watch. Blue Bloods rocks the world! I would love to meet this awesome cast!
I forgot to mention how much I love the family dinners and loyalty there!
This is the best series I have ever seen EVER. I hope this series goes on forever and Danny is my favorite. He rocks! Please never cancel this show, I live to watch this series – AMAZING. there is no other detective/criminal show that compares. You are off the chart and I have watched them all ( criminal minds, law and order, law and order SVU, etc.). Trust me you guys are definitely doing something right and bring so much joy into my life – please never stop this series!
We love Blue Bloods. It is our favorite show. we love the family closeness and interaction, sometimes conflicts, but they are still a loving family at their closing family meal! We need more family shows. Do not cancel!!!!!!
This is the only TV show we watch, we love the family gatherings and family loyalty and all it has to offer. Love the show!
I like Blue Blood better than any show on television. It is a family show as far as I go. I know that there is crime in it, but crime goes on. The family part around the table is excellent.
Yes! My mom says she loves this show
I love this show and all its cast members. But this season the writing stinks. It’s going to be the downfall of the show if they don’t improve and come up w better story lines. The loss of Jackie also has made a difference. The sexual tension between Danny and Jackie made for an interesting side Story line. Please do better writers. I don’t want to see show canceled.
Love this show! Stay home ftidays to watch Blue Bloods as I don’t want to record the show and wait until later to view.
BEST SHOW ON TV>>>>
CBS made a very good decision by renewing Blue Bloods. With all the confusion taking place in the USA watching the Reagan family on Friday nights is a real treat. My only suggestion is broadcast the show at 9 PM instead of 10.
It is the only show i look forward to every week.
This is the only show that I stay up to watch during the week. I am a morning person and usually asleep by 9 in the evening. When I found this show on Amazon prime I proceeded to watch the entire series (1-6) from beginning to end in order.
One of the things I used to enjoy about the show was the quiet wisdom of the Commissioner and the close family bonds of the Reagan’s. There is so much anger and yelling now. Tom Sellek’s character has become a such a grouch. He seems angry all the time. Even the Sunday dinners aren’t pleasant anymore. I don’t want all peaches and cream, but a little relief would be nice. The show could use a some human warmth. I think the producers are trying to keep their ratings up by raising the conflict level. I may not watch it next… Read more »
