Tom Selleck is not giving up hope on Blue Bloods. The star of the Friday night drama still feels that CBS will reverse its decision to cancel the long-running series.
Starring Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, and Vanessa Ray, the Blue Bloods series follows a family of law enforcement officers in New York City.
Selleck said the following about the series in a recent interview, per Deadline:
“I will continue to think that CBS will come to their senses. We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast. We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. And I can tell you this: we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows, and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!”
Just last week, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach reiterated the network’s decision to cancel the series and acknowledged the cast’s desire to continue Blue Bloods beyond season 14. She said the following:
“We really want to thank the cast and crew, everyone involved in the show. We absolutely will miss the family dinners. It is important to give show the sendoff it deserves.
We love this cast, we love their passion for the show. All shows have to come to an end. It’s important to us to refresh the schedule. We are going to end the show come December.”

I can understand that Blue Bloods carries a high cast cost due to the larger # of characters as opposed to NCIS, ‘Ghosts’, Tracker, etc. BUT I suspect some BB cast mbrs would take a ‘cut’ and/or accept some future streaming income in lieu of salary now. Perhaps negotiations are going on as we speak? IF a show is still highly rated, the cast is enthusiastic, commercials are easily sold, why not?? Yes, it’s always about the $$ (this is NOT taxpayer supported PBS) but it has a high income audience!
I absolutely love this show!!!! Come on CBS as soon as a really good show is on and you have so many people that watch this show…… i hope they get another station to take over….. the writers and cast unlike CBS are wonderful! And yes i like to watch the Sunday night family dinners!
I think CBS needs a new leader. If it ain’t broke….They should get rid of those mindless reality shows
Blue bloods is one of the best shows on, don’t cancel it.
They have an excellent cast and excellent writers!
I have watched this show from day 1 and will continue to do so even if it were to move to another network. Wake up CBS and do the right thing bring Blue Bloods back.
I just don’t understand why CBS would cancel it when the ratings are still high. It’s a great show to watch. I look forward to watching Blue Bloods every Friday night. Not another NCIS. There are too many already. Please keep Blue Bloods on CBS instead of moving it to somewhere where you would have to pay to see it

I think if CBS wants to get rid of something/someone they should turn their attention to none other than Amy Reisenbach who clearly doesn’t have CBS’s best interests put first nor does she have it’s viewers interests at heart either. The show is well ranked and viewed, especially for a Friday night, the cast wants to stay and have even taken pay cuts too, the fans and viewers want them to stay also. I have watched this show for 14 yrs and have not missed one episode. It was fantastic from day one and said then that they finally have a great show on to watch,now we have to give it up just because someone at CBS decides to cancel it? This is soooo wrong, a great show great ratings and great acting and actors and story line that could keep going with so much more. All I want for Christmas is Friday nights with Magnum PI, Hawaii Five O, and Blue Bloods. That line up was really special.

Why is CBS shooting themselves in the foot? It doesn’t make any sense to cancel one of the best shows in television. DO NOT CANCEL “Bluebloods”
Another case of, “if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”. I look forward to Friday nights with Tim Selleck and “Blue Bloods” and the entire cast. I hope the powers that be will come to their senses and reconsider this decision to cancel the show.

I cannot believe how stupid CBS is. Seriously. they have one of the best shows on television with supreme actors and well written and they are going to cancel? Who are the morons running this network? Please come to your stupid senses and leave this show on TV where it belongs.
