Last year, Call Me Kat got off to a great start in the ratings thanks to FOX giving it a post-football game premiere timeslot. The network is repeating that strategy this time around. In addition, star Mayim Bialik is getting additional exposure by hosting Jeopardy! in syndication. Will some new viewers check out the series and cause the ratings to rise? Will Call Me Kat be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A multi-camera comedy series, the Call Me Kat TV show is based on the British Miranda series and stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, and Julian Gant. The story follows Kat (Bialik), a woman who struggles every day against society (and her mother) to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life — despite still being single at 39 years old. Kat’s mother, Sheila (Kurtz), views her daughter being single as her own personal failure. After leaving her job as a University of Louisville college professor, Kat spends the money her parents had set aside for her wedding to open a cat café. Working alongside Kat are her friends, artist Randi (Pratt) and Phil (Jordan), a baker. As Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans begin to veer off-course when her former crush and good friend, Max (Jackson), returns to town. Max takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street from Kat’s place and works with his friend, Carter (Gant).
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
5/6 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season one of Call Me Kat on FOX averaged a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.61 million viewers in the live+same day ratings.
Note: These are the final national ratings, including all live+same day viewing and DVR playback (through 3:00 AM). Early fast affiliate ratings (estimates) are indicated with an “*”. While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but the higher-rated series are typically renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled.
What do you think? Do you like the Call Me Kat TV series on FOX? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
*5/16/22 update: Call Me Kat has been renewed for a third season on FOX.
I have enjoyed the series until the episode that aired on April 21. I am not a prude, but I thought the episode focused on sex too much. Kat referring to her sexy moves, etc. I view this show as a sitcom. Sex on cheese, not funny.
My opinion has been soured. The handling of the Oscar breakup not good.
Perhaps you shouldn’t view British tv or come to.Europe then ..we discuss sex ,show sex & have n o problem.with nudity over here. This looks like a dreadful British tv show that thankfully stopped about 6 yrs ago called Miranda ..featuring Miranda Hart..the original was diabolical ..but Call.Me K at looks even worse
I love Mayim in this, and would like to see her do a lot more singing and dancing with the bartender.
Good show
Best show
Please renewed another season so funny love it and enjoy it so good.
The laugh track is horrendous. Not everything that is said needs a phony laugh. It isn’t a good show because of it. I stuck by it, but just let the jokes find their own laughter. I doubt it will survive.
Contact the Network/producers or show runners. I’m sometimes sensitive to laugh tracks. But didn’t Notice this one. “The Connors” sound track is ACTUALLY the one that is horrid. hopefully, I don’t start hearing it now that I thought about it.
Please boost your ratings so good and funny too. Look forward to seeing it every Thursday sitcom. Best role since Miriam The Big Bang theory sitcom.
My absolute favorite show…Leslie Jordan is a hoot…I hope it continues for many seasons to come
The rateings don’t surprise me at all to be honest. If this should be the last season I’d be glad
Hope so too. But unfortunately get a second season just because of the name. This is what happens to all the old big bang theory actors. Just because you’re related to that show you’re considered star quality. The show is just garbage.
Well actually some of them do have real talent and made it even to the big screen. They don’t have to use the fame of big bang. Those who are truly good actors chose not to go into comedy again to avoid being compared and create new things. But this show is I agree garbage. A failed remake in so many ways and the jokes don’t land.
Please boost your ratings look forward to seeing it every Thursday night comedy sitcom so funny.!
The ratings don’t look as well either
Couldn’t even make it through one episode -she can’t act.
A 1.22 to a 0.30? In one week? Yikes.
But she’s a neuroscientist…lol.
Yes she says, but I’m still wouldn’t buy anything based upon her sell out to these types of therapeutic medicines.
Please continue this show so funny love it.
Love this show.
