Season four of When Calls the Heart airs its finale tonight — Sunday, April 23rd. But should there be a fifth season? What do you think? Should Hallmark Channel cancel or renew the TV series?
The historical drama follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher whose life is turned upside down when she moves to a small, coal mining town. The cast also includes Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Chelah Horsdal, Mitchell Kummen, Gracyn Shinyei, and Martin Cummins.
When Calls the Heart is a solid performer for Hallmark Channel. Ratings for season four are up from season three, with an average rating of 0.28 in the 18-49 demo and 2.41 million viewers so far. For comparison, season three averaged a .24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.06 million viewers.
It seems like a fifth season renewal should be a slam dunk but there’s been no announcement yet. Once again, the “Hearties” are having to be patient.

I think the show should be renewed, indefinitely! This is a great movie and is one of the few that you can sit down with your family to watch and not worry about the language, innuendos, etc. It’s a shame that renewing it is even in question! It’s a no-brainer! Let’s go for season five and beyond!
Yes there needs to be a fifth season for sure. Can’t wait to see what happens next on my favorite show. We need more shows like this on TV. No sex. Family friendly.

It’s a Wonderful Show!!! Of course it needs to be renewed. It’s one of the few shows our whole family can watch together. We love it. It teaches the basics in life and teachers our children to never give up and to keep “Faith” in your life. It also shows them that life is about giving along with loving and helping each other.

I think they should continue to air When Calls the Heart, it is a great show. I wish the seasons were longer because 10 months is a long wait. Really enjoy the show please keep it going!

WCTH is the best family show on Hallmark and TV in general! The actors are phenomenal and there is always a good message for everyone! Please bring it back…it wouldn’t be Sunday night without it!
