TV show description:
Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) is an incredibly famous mystery novelist who has become bored with his own success. His life starts to get interesting when he learns that a real-world copycat killer has started staging murder scenes based on his novels.
Rick is soon questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a very bright and aggressive detective who keeps her investigations under a tight rein. Their styles instantly clash yet sparks begin to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance as Rick steps in to help Kate find the killer. Once that case is solved, the author decides to use her as the basis for a new book series.
Rick uses his connections to get permission to accompany Kate while she investigates other cases, much to her frequent irritation. But Kate has a reputation for looking for “freaky” cases so she needs all the help she can get.
Others on her team include Kate’s confidant, Medical Examiner Lanie Parish (Tamala Jones); sardonic Detective Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas); and Detective Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever), a nice guy who’s always ready to offer obscure facts. Captain Roy Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) is their boss who makes sure that Kate’s cases go smoothly, in spite of all of the strong personalities involved.
Rick’s mother is Martha Rodgers (Susan Sullivan), a diva and former Broadway actress, who still seeks the spotlight and often ends up getting involved with the police cases. Alexis (Molly Quinn) is Rick’s quick-witted and insightful teenage daughter who keeps her famous dad in line.
Rick and Kate build upon their new relationship as they look to solve strange homicides in New York — as much fun as one can have with death & murder.
Episode #173 — Crossfire
With their best lead in hand, Castle and Beckett are ready to take on LokSat. But an unforeseen twist puts their case – and their lives – in jeopardy.
First aired: May 16, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Castle TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a ninth season?
Where is the network’s head? Castle just voted best crime show on TV at the People’s Choice Awards. Also both the lead actress and lead actor voted favorites as well. Does the network care that people love this show and the people on it?
No if you are over 49, Earl
I love castle I want to be on for a long timei
Does anyone at ABC or Disney read these comments?? Keep Castle, the police stories are great but I watch for the love story. Painfully I have watched every episode waiting to see Rick and Kate together alone, what a chemistry. I have ALL their shows on DVD and play them over and over only to see them exchange looks, dialog, touching and embraces. Where is her ring?? Stana says she can’t remember what finger it goes on, there is ONLY one place (this is only on the DVD season 6). Her eyes, smile and looks can melt ice among objects,… Read more »

This is such a great show. Why is it the producers don’t seem to care what we like. Its light and funny yet serious at Times. For once let the people decide not just the ratings. I look forward to monday nights. Please renew Castle, we are sick of all the reality shows taking over.
Bravo to all the people who are out there desperately pleading for the Network and Sponsors to keep Castle on the air. With all of the awards the show has earned without having to resort to blood, gore or supernatural elements you have to wonder “Don’t those who have the power to cancel a show care what the public thinks? If not for shows like Castle with it’s cat and mouse relationship between Rick and Becket the excellent casting throughout I would be ready to cancel my television service altogether. And, by the way, great to see Susan Sullivan on… Read more »
In January of this year Paul Lee the president of ABC told us all Castle would have a season 8. He would not be the first president to hear about it from CNN. Nathan has already signed a new contract we are waiting on Stana Katic?. The show without both on them would not be the same, so we need them both. Stana has 11 days left and counting down to May 9th the day here old contract is up. It looks like ABC just does not care about the 8.5 million fans. It is by far the best tv… Read more »
I love castle the whole cast complements each other I watch it on tnt from five to whenever it is off. on Monday I watch it at 10 I watch the repeats and my daughter says you’ve seen these before and I say and too bad igot my granddaughter watching it now. bought the books too. love this program. Keep this program.
I am anxiously awaiting the news that there will be another season of Castle
Finally, a show that is well written and its characters are made for their respective roles. If ABC were to cancel this show it would nullify any chance of competing with CBS who, at present has a lock on prime time TV…e.g….NCIS;NCIS LA; Person of interest,, etc, all of which are real heavyweights and really have no competition for Tuesday evening primetime. These heavyweight shows require one to think instead of the mindless tripe that networks try to force feed the public.Trying to unseat them is a waste of time and money as they are all class acts and much… Read more »
Please do not cancel CASTLE! This is the best show with parent teaching skills, good morals, and the fact that a mother/grandmother is part of the fabric of this show. There are so many families made up of single parents, children and grandmother these days; it’s important to see this kind of interaction. I love this show and would be so disappointed to see it canceled!
Why do show biz people do this? I finally have a show with class acts kind of people and terrific story lines and top it off by knowing “Castle” could have all ages watch doesn’t come around but once in a life time. Don’t cancel it. Hope to hear soon about a new season.
love, love, love this show! It is funny and intelligent.
I love Castle, haven’t missed a show, but I do wish Castle would lose the weight he has gained through out the series, he needs to look good for Kate, who is model material.
When they walk together, he really looks frompy and he can’t close his jacket any more.
But I love him anyway. Will never stop watching till it is cancelled.
RENEWED RENEWED RENEWED RENEWED RENEWED RENEWED RENEWED!!!!!!! Please don’t cancel it!!!!!!! I love the show and so does sooo many others!!!!!!!
I love this show. The actors are terrific. Great comedy and serious acting make this a great show. Too bad it doesn’t get doesn’t get more recognition
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TELL ME THAT WEDDING ON A PREVIOUS CASTLE SHOW WILL NOT BE KATE’S WEDDING GOWN. IT REALLY DOESN’T EVEN LOOK LIKE A WEDDING GOWN. KATE NEED A ELEGANT, CLASSIC DOWN!
I absolutely feel that this is one show with fantastic characters, fantastic writing and fantastic acting by ALL of them. I agree with just about everyone else here – this is an excellent quality show, with suspense and some humor in it. There isn’t a show currently on that has this same chemistry between everyone who is a part of it. There also was exceptional casting for this show. When I started watching this show, I didn’t know most of the actors and actresses, but they can really act!! I hope this show goes on for a long time –… Read more »
Castle is one top notch show and one of the most interesting aspects was watching the Castle-Beckett relationship grow. This is the first series I have seen in a long time that does not run out of steam….watching them begin their relationship as adversaries… at best, and slowly moving to admitting strong personal feelings for the other (particular Castle) and then Beckett as she almost lost her life when she was about to fall from the roof. Her part of a believable “soul searching” led her to Castle’s door and the relationship really took off. Now this is where most… Read more »
