Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Very disappointed. Enjoyed the show
this is ridiculous
I JUST LOVED CEDAR COVE,WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE START TO A NEW SEASON. PLEASE BRING IT BACK,WAS ENJOYABLE AND VERY ENTERTAINING .FROM A VERY SAD FAN.
Very disappointed the show was cancelled. The setting was beautiful and the story sweet in an all too often horrible television lineup. Cancelling after three seasons and not giving it a proper finish makes me wonder if HALLMARK should be doing additional shows at all.
Very disappointed this show was cancelled, especially without resolving so many questions. Badly done Hallmark channel.
My wife got me hooked on Cedar Cove on Netflix. Very disappointed that it will not continue to a Season 4. The last scene of season 3 had me screaming at the TV! (picking up my Man Card now)
So disappointed to discover no more Cedar Cove – Could Hallmark channel maybe do a Thanksgiving or Christmas episode to tie up all the loose ends- I am sure thousands of fans would be happy with that – it was such a great cast .
I hate when a network does this to the fans – I never missed an episode.
If you’re not doing a season 4 is it likely you’ll do a movie or 2 to wrap up the unanswered questions? This is one of the reasons I try not to start watching new series…it’s one thing to cancel them but another to wrap up the story lines..ugh!
I have watched it from the very beginning never missing an episode – please at least do half a season so we know what happens to people.
My heart is broken with the news of this cancellation! Such a loss … beautiful show
I watched Cedar Cove on Netflix instead of Hallmark. Please produce season 4 so we may all know what becomes of Paul and Olivia. Very cruel way to permanently end the series. At least bring together a closing special to tie up all the dangling loose ends you left for us!
Love Cedar Cove and all the actors in it. It was such a good wholesome show. Please bring it back !!!!
My husband and I loved watching Cedar Cove on Netflix and are both so disappointed to see the way the series ended! I sincerely hope Hallmark will make things right and at least make a reunion movie to let us all have closure. Leaving us dangling with no hope of finding out how our beloved characters’ lives turn out is not fair. Please, Hallmark, give us something!
Why? This show is the only thing I have been looking forward to watching all year. Cedar Cove was the Heart of TV. For me.
Very disappointed. Loved the show.
