Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

It should have been renewed! Why start watching the new programs with the possibility of being cancelled and no ending. A lot of our time was invested for nothing! Quite disappointing!
Getting tired of watching a TV series only to have it cancelled in 1-3 years. I keep thinking I’ll wait until a show is out for a few years before starting to watch it. Loved the show. Don’t know why they cancelled it. Quit watching NBC for the reason of their quick cancellations. May have to add Hallmark to the list.
Loved Cedar Cove –I am disappointed that it was cancelled. I hope the shows producers reconsider.
I want cedar cove to come back and continue series
I just binged watch this series and am very sorry to hear it was cancelled. In a crazy world with depressing headlines and stinky TV, this was such a feel-good, wholesome show. You left us all hanging?
I enjoyed Cedar Cove and looked forward to watching it every season.
I read all of Debbie Macomber books.
Please bring it back.
I just found out that cedar cove has been cancelled. So sad. I finally found a show on tv worth watching and it’s taken off. Such a shame that clean family shows have no place in today’s society. At least have a “closure” movie I the up all those loose ends!
I loved Cedar Cove….can’t believe they cancelled such a great show!
Loved Cedar Cove…can’t believe they cancelled a great show!
I loved Cedar Cove. Can’t believe it was cancelled. Leaving the viewers hanging doesn’t give much credence to future series on Hallmark.
I loved Cedar Cove and I am saddened by its cancellation. Please reconsider your decision and bring it back.
Great family show. Guess not enough sex, porn, profanity, blood and guts. Maybe not enough PC BS
Bring It Back!!!
My husband and I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about Cedar Cove. It had everything television should bring to life. The scenery was magnificent, as were the acting (the casting was amazing), the story lines, the direction and the production. What more could one have hoped for. Except of course another season! Bring it back we loved it so much!

I am disappointed to hear the show is cancelled. Don’t leave us hanging. I have enjoyed the series. Bring it back, please. At least for another season to tie up loose ends.
I started looking for advertisements to season 4 of Cedar Cove, I knew it was about time for it to start up again. Disappointed when I researched it on the internet to find it was cancelled. It sure let faithful views down; bummer. At least have a finishing episode since we’ve invested hours of our time watching the series, many of us with anticipation for the next episode. Have a heart for us old romantic’s.
