Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

What????? I am sooo disappointed Cedar Cove was canceled. Give these nice shows a chance. We need more GOOD TV shows. I am very disappointed!!
This was a awesome show. Really disappointed that it ended so soon and that the last episode ended with so many questions.
Disappointed to learn Cedar Cove canceled. Refreshing series in view of so much rubbish on tv today.
I am so disappointed that you would not have a final season! Just saw the cliff hanger at the end of Season 3 tonight and could not believe when I saw the cancellation when I googled when the next season would air! Sure wish you would at least have a finale episode to please those of us who DID love the characters in this charming setting of Cedar Cove. You say it lost viewers with each season, but there was still a huge following you ignored!
so sad to learn that Cedar Cove has been canceled. They should make a movie to tie up all the loose ends.
Very disappointing – the book series kept my interest & I know it has a huge following – perhaps there were issues on delivering the TV version of the book. I was a loyal follower and I agree, greed may have taken over logic that this was a successful program that just needed to be adjusted and pumped up a bit,
Bad call Hallmark – those characters were apart of our lives in the books and on TV…Boooooo! WE NEED CLOSURE!!!!
It was the only Hallmark show I was committed to watching. It would be nice if just once, good family shows could be more important than money and high ratings. It’s not like it didn’t have an audience.
I am very disappointed that 2 seasons in a row that the shows that I watched have been canceled. Witches of east end and now cedar cove. Makes me want to not watch anything on lifetime because they don’t finish what they start.
I can’t believe season 4 of Cedar Cove was cancelled. My husband and I watched it every Sunday. There is so much junk on TV. That is why we enjoyed Cedar Cove. I would love to see season 4 return or a movie wrapping things up. Please don’t let the show end without an ending.
Missing cedar cove and no ending?
I was so disappointed to find out Cedar Cove was not coming back. I looked forward to an uplifting show.
I love the written series by Debbie Macomber, but I have to say even though I watched the tv series it was hard to connect with Andie MacDowell in the lead role. I don’t think she was a good fit at all.
In these days of turmoil and stress I found the conflicts of Cedar Cove comforting and calming. The visual scenery and day to day Cedar Cove happenings were akin to a good cup of tea. Please being back season 4 😉
I AM SUPER SAD … I LOVE CEDAR COVE!
PLEASE FIX THIS …BRING SEASON 4 …
OR A MOVIE … I SPEAK FOR EVERYONE WE NEED CLOSURE … COME ON HALLMARK …
YOUR A FEEL GOOD NETWORK …
Sad to learn that there is no season 4.
