Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I am really devastated to be honest. I thought this was a nice show. One of the few shows with no lewd, crude, behavior. No violence, no cursing, no distasteful sexual content, just wholesome stories. It’s such a pity that shows like this get cancelled but they keep things on like Power and Empire.
I am so disappointed to hear about Cedar Cove being cancelled. I’ve been watching and waiting for it all summer. I enjoyed it so much as did many of my girlfriends. I hope that maybe Halmark will reconsider. It really was one of the best quality shows out there.
The best family show in a long long time. I really enjoyed watching the series that I have a weekend marathon glue to watching it. I wish you reconsider Season 4, with all the violence , crappy reality , how to marry a millionaire, even the Kardashians eye shows..it is really refreshing there is a valuable tv series like Cedars Cove, it give you such a warm feeling and even the story lines that relates to all we go thru in life! Andie Macdowell and cast are all awesome and stopping the show without a finale is just plain irresponsible… Read more »
I loved the story line, the cast, the scenery, and the fact that it was wholesome and clean. I get tired of watching the junk on tv with fowl language and cheap story lines. This show was a winner. Sorry to see it end.
So disappointed that /cedar Cove has been canceled; especially without at least giving the viewers some closure with the story lines.

Very disappointed. Please reconsider.
please bring back Cedar Cove. There are not enough wholesome shows on TV. This was a great one
Hallmark used to b an exclusive channel for me, but it has gone down steadily for quite awhile now. I do not want to watch episode after episode of for example The Middle, Last Man Standing, Etc., One episode each time is enough!!! Cedar Cove was cancelled mainly because it was a decent clean show. Up your game Hallmark. Your channel currently sucks and I wont b renewing your channel on my satellite package. Its definitely not worth my time and money. Your channel and Lifetime have all declined horribly
I have been waiting and waiting for Season 4 to begin, then find out the show has been cancelled. So very sorry to hear this as I loved the show and wish it would come back.
I have been waiting and waiting for Season 4, so sad to find out it has been cancelled. I was hooked!!!! They characters had become like family and I really enjoyed the story line. Would love to see it come back.
I love the Hallmark channels. I recently had Hallmark added to my cable providers line-up. I actually found Cedar Cove on NetFlix and pretty much binge watched the whole three seasons. I was really looking forward to a season four. Very dissappointed to read you have cancelled this show. I will miss the characters I grew to love. I have just started watching your new series Chesapeake Shore. I truly hope it will last!
Bring back cedar cove.
I’m so sad to hear that there won’t be another season of Cedar Cove. I wish Hallmark would reconsider.
I am soooo disappointed! I have read all of the books. I have been waiting for it to come on. I seriously hate when a series ends this way. I will miss it terribly
