Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Was looking so forward to watching season 4. Am sooo disappointed!
Please continue with a season 4 I just love this show!!!
very disappointed to find Cedar Cove has been cancelled!
Such a great show, was looking forward to a new season. Please reconsider your decision! Maybe if you didn’t take such long breaks in between episodes we could keep track of when they air.
What a disappointment! It was so refreshing to watch a show that had such great actors and such a clean realistic storyline. I loved the characters so much. With so much trash on tv this show was like a shining star. Very disappointed in hallmarks decision.
My boyfriend and I loved every episode of every season. I really wish there would be a season 4. I am disappointed that we won’t find out if Olivia chooses Paul or Jack. I hope Hallmark is able to at least pull a wrap up episode together…don’t leave us hanging!
I Can’t believe this show has been canceled!!! Just watched the whole series on Netflix only to find out I’m left hanging!!!!! This is a wonderful show you are making a big mistake!!!!
I love the show and hate it was cancelled.
It so disappointing to come to care for a show and its characters and then have it cancelled without resolving the plot lines. It’s like reading an awesome novel and when you get towards the end of the book the last few chapters have been torn out and thrown away and you’ll never know what happened. It makes it difficult to want to start watching some of the other series, like Chesapeake Shores thinking will the same thing happen in the few seasons. I watch Hallmark Channel more than any other channel and really do love it but I’m so… Read more »
I would really like this series to continue or do a wrap up and not leave us hanging. I don’t have cabe or anything so I would have to wait for Netflix and then also but them on dvd. I love anything from debbie macomber and got my family into her stories as well. Please don’t let such a great show and sorry just fall under all the garbage in the media today. Maybe even join forces with Netflix to make it ready for Netflix release tagged with hallmark instead of tv release! Please bring back cedar cove!
Hallmark, please produce a wrap up show next summer. If you can’t get a few of the actors, film around them or do flash backs. Did the Nielson ratings reflect the Netflix viewers? Do something Hallmark.
Please bring back this excellent series. At least for a couple of episode so it can be wrapped up. That’s the least you can do for your viewers.
Are you kidding? Cedar Cove was such an amazing series. Why would Hallmark cancel it? Did the same person who thought viewers could wait a year to see what happens on The Bridge make this decision? I used to plan my weekend around watching Cedar Cove. Now I record the lukewarm Chesapeake Shores series and sometimes forget to watch it. Please bring Cedar Cove back,
This show will be missed in our family!!! They need to have a two hour wrap up or bring it back!!!!!!!
This is wrong…It was my favorite show…how could they cancell like that! Like everyone else I am very sad. Please bring the show back?
HIGHLY disappointed. Good shows with morals & values just don’t last anymore. Simply sad, Please reconsider.
