A horror anthology series, each season of this TV show follows a different story and characters.

The first season, titled “Candle Cove”, centers on one man’s obsessive recollections of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s. He has ever-growing suspicions about the role that the show might have played in a series of nightmarish and deadly events from his childhood.

A child psychologist, Mike Painter (Paul Schneider) was a child himself when he witnessed the mysterious 1988 disappearance of his twin brother, Eddie, and four other children from their small town of Iron Hill. Decades later, he is compelled to return to his hometown to investigate what really happened all those years ago. He discovers that it — whatever it was — may be happening all over again.

Marla Painter (Fiona Shaw) is Mike’s mother and a widow. She’s shocked when Mike returns home and she is reluctant to relive the events of the long-ago disappearances.

Mike’s friend from childhood, Gary Yolen (Shaun Benson), is now the sheriff of Iron Hill and the father of two. He’s happy to see his old pal but he’s also terrified that the evil that once plagued Iron Hill might be returning.

Gary’s wife is Jessica (Natalie Brown) and she was also Mike’s childhood friend. As the mother of two, Jessica faces every parent’s nightmare when it seems like children may be disappearing from the town once again.

Sheriff’s Deputy Amy Welch (Luisa D’Oliveira) is too young to remember the original Iron Hill disappearances, yet she learns about them quickly when she takes charge of a new investigation that’s seemingly tied to the original cases.
