NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

We think this is one of the better shows of the new season and are going to miss the sh0w if it is cancelled….. especially when the last show was at such a cliff hanger!!!! That is so unfair to the viewers!!!! And NBC hardly gave it a chance!!! When you start getting new viewer you change nights, then skip weeks, then give us ‘cast – cookies’ and start getting us hooker on the characters and we start DVR’ing and looking ahead and then NBC starts skipping again and there is a HUGE ending and then there is NOTHING!!! I LOVE Chase!!! NBC can not let this show go. They have to give it another chance, like they say “three times the charm!!!”. This is a great show and great cast. I love the fact that it is not a reality show. We have left TV to reality and forgotten true shows, like Chase, that have made TV watching great for decades. The show also at the end started showing fugitives that the US Marshalls are looking for and this may help catch them…did we not see this back in 1996 with Americas Most wanted??!!! Chase is a fantastic show!!! I don’t know why NBC keeps cutting its dramas. Maybe Chase had lower ratings because NBC didn’t do enough to promote the show. I had to tell people about the great show and everyone I told loved it once the watched. Chase should be brought back!!!
Great Show ……. Far superior to the mediocre “L&O Los Angelos” but then again i don’t think NBC would know a great show if one walked in and slapped NBC in the face and said “I’m a fantastic show….” so………. I won’t hold my breath…
I am a 60 yr. old female and outside of educational tv and all those great old British comedies I don’t watch much else. I’m finding it harder and harder to find a good show to watch on tv. , that said, I really liked Chase; Annie Foster was my hero and I’m sad that the show has been canceled 🙁

WHAT A SHAME! The cast of characters was everyone I liked and have proven themselves. Give them a better time slot!
Chase was a great show. THere are to many of the same game shows on tv now its boring. Chase was great. I am really dissappointed that it is not coming back on. I hope nbc rethinks this and airs it again. Maybe there wasn’t enough advertising for it, but it is an awesome show. BRING IT BACK!!!!!take minute it to win it off.
PLEASE bring Chase back!!!! I LOVE that show. The actors are amazing. I love Cole Hauser and I’ll be very sad if I can’t see him every week! 🙁 PLEASE bring it back!!!!!
