NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

this was a great show, i was looking forward to it this season but i guess minute to blow it is replacing… boring!!
I loved the show. I hope someone else picks it up! I taped it every week!
I can’t believe Chase is being canceled…I loved it…never missed an episode. Annie was fabulous. Why do we have to have all the reality crap on tv and lose shows like Chase. NBC is nuts if they think we all like the reality shows instead of the fiction and action shows…Chase was extremely exciting…watching fat people lose weight is not…nor are any of the other reality things that are on TV. I’m a senior citizen and there are a lot of us around now…the boomers…remember??? and we don’t like the reality crap…
leave it to the network to cancel relly good shows for idiot crap like min.to win it!!
One of the few shows I looked forward to. I’m very disappointed that it may not be back. The last episode dealing with the drug cartels was right on. Please reconsider!!!
I’m not surprised by NBC’s stupidity. THESE ARE THE GUYS THAT PUT JAY LENO ON EVEYRNIGHT AND CANCELLED SOUTHLAND. The show was very good and the lead Actress was great. When was the last time you saw a strong female character on an action show? Plus Cole Hauser. Another underrated actor unapreciated. And they wonder why they’re struggling so much. Oh well, maybe TNT will pick it up like Southland or possibly USA.
I loved the show Chase. I really wish NBC would reconsider and bring it back!
I share the same opinions as those before me. I thought this was a great action show and looked forward to it every week. I even had to change my schedule when NBC moved the show to another night.
I have one word that describes how stupid NBC is
By canceling chase…..Southland!!! You lost that amazing show
Welcome to losing another….morons
Makes perfect sense because this is not the first time that NBC has cancelled a unique and great series. They dropped “I Spy” after three seasons (4/15/68), “T.H.E. Cat” after just one season (3/31/67), and even after four seasons “Heroes” (2/8/10) which after the last episode appeared to have a promising fifth season if they hadn’t dropped it. Sometimes NBC stands for Nincompoop Broadcast Cancellations.
I agree with the comments I have read. I really enjoyed the show and had it on my dvr list in case I didn’t get to watch it. I am very disappointed in it possibly being canceled. Replacing it with a reality game show… I understanding that those are entertaining, but they have nothing to offer to those who like to have storylines and characters. I agree with Mike, if you go into character buildings then people can connect to them and that will create support and audience. And like he said, go deeper into the Marshalls aspect. Obviously most… Read more »
Chase is an awesome show with a lot of backbone. I read that NBC is stating that it had poor audience numbers … Seriously??? It’s a bloody good show with original storylines and a ROCKIN CAST!!
EVERYBODY keep your fingers crossed that another network decides to pick up this series. I got into the show from the very beginning and am sad that it has been put on hiatus.
To the cast: Fantastic job guys … I will miss the show 🙂

why do all my favourite shows end up cancelled???? Seriously!!! They’re unique, let them be!! First Life, now Chase and Cape??? If it weren’t for Chuck, I’d stop watching altogether.
unbelievable…..it’s a great show, NBC will be making a big mistake if they do not bring it back….what NBC and the writers should do is go into the characters a bit more…we dont need another crime drama just about solving crimes there’s enough of those….get into the world of U.S. Marshalls…what it takes to become one..especially for women….go deeper into what the Marshall’s are doing about stopping drugs coming into the Country…you were just starting this in the last few episodes…..give it a chance…Annie deserves it
NBC Programing Department sucks! Let this show go to USA, TBS or TNT where it can get some support. Keep you game shows and “reality” shows. Cheaper is not alway the better choice. Idiots!
