NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

This is exactly why I hold on to my Blockbuster card. I never get attached to a show. Back in 2005, I fell in love with Wanted. It lasted a year. Then I got into Hack. Poof. Disappearing act. Jericho. Firefly. I give up.
great show! please don’t cancel. it’s better than 24
It was a great show!! I am very disappointed that it will not be back on! My opinion as to why is because it isn’t another stupid sitcom, reality show or a game show. We have enough of those! Please bring it back!
What! Why? Bring it back.
THE DECISON TO CANCELL CHASE IS WRONG. GOOD STORIES, ACTION ACTING . of course people would like “minute to win it ” it is just another stupid game that you do hacve to use any imagination or think at all.
It’s not the show it’s the time schedule. It’s hard to compete with Monday night football and the new Hawaii Five O and moved to compete with Tom Selleck!
My family loves the show.
I love Chase, and I cannot understand why it didn’t catch on. I am a bit heartbroken, and will miss it.
It’s really too bad that the show was cancelled. I thought both the cast and the plots were quite good. Perhaps the production company can take it to a more innovative network
My whole family liked Chase. Ages 12 , 20, 58. Quite the Demographics. I hope one of the other networks picks it up. This was about the only show I watched on NBC. I guess I won’t have to watch NBC anymore. Bye NBC.
Cancel it bring back Law and Order LA
I really enjoyed this show. It’s been one of my favorite new shows this season. I’m extremely disappointed that I probably won’t get to see what happens after the main character is kidnapped. Come on NBC…
A well written, well acted. It was too adult for the normal TV viewer. I am going to miss it. I hope the idiots at the Peacock will show the episodes already produced.
Agree, finally something for educated adults and the Peacock cancels the show. Kelly Giddish and the team are outstanding actors. Hopefully someone else will pick this show up in the future.
NBC you are the worst network ever. I wish this would have been an ABC show at least we would get to see all of the eps. I know now why I DO NOT watch NBC because you suck. You start a show some people love it and you cancel it without even thinking of the almost 6 million that love it. How me people have to watch a show of yours before you keep it. Have you ever thought that maybe some people that watch it work that night and watch it online the next day. No no you… Read more »
totally agree. NBC will lose many viewer.
Please keep Chase, it is a great show on tv.
I Thought it was a great show. The main character gets kidnapped, are we not going to be able to see the ending. So tv (NBC or whomever) screws it fans again.
Enjoyed it greatly and hate to hear that it’s most likely canceled.
