What’s This TV Show About?
On Too Close to Home, a small town woman moves to Washington DC to start a new life and join the political scene. Following a major scandal, she retreats to the community and family that she’d been hoping to leave behind. The regular TLC TV series cast includes Danielle Savre, Kelly Sullivan, Brock O’Hurn, Brad Benedict, and Brooke Anne Smith. Courtney Burrell, Azur-De, Nelson Estevez, Angela Rigsby, James Shanklin, KD Aubert, and Crystle Stewart recur. Heather Locklear returns as a guest star.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Too Close to Home averaged a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.08 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s up by 62% in the demo and up by 52% in viewers.
As of December 19, 2017, Too Close to Home has been cancelled by TLC.
Could they bring it back for a third season?

Telly’s Take
The first season of Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home TV show averaged a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 713,000 viewers and yet TLC ordered a second season. Since the current season two ratings averages are way up in both measures, it seems highly unlikely TLC will cancel this scripted drama series. Too Close to Home should be renewed for a third season on TLC. Of course, if the ratings plummet, I reserve the right to change my mind.
12/19 update: Despite a sizable increase in the ratings during season two, Too Close to Home has been cancelled by TLC, with no fanfare. Details here.

Man,I was really loving to close to home. I even got my family & friends watching it. We have been waiting for it to come back on, only to find out TLC has lost their minds. I hope Tyler Perry can hook up with maybe TNT or another network with a great time slot ;preferably p.m. We love this show & can’t wait for it to come back. Wonderful cast, please for the love of man bring it back Mr Perry.

For all of those going through similar problems and for all the wonderful staff that care for those who have gone through traumatic times ( Nurses such as myself, Drs, Counselors and others who work in Psychiatry and Mental Health) we know how it is trying to help those patients…. please bring it back!
Please bring back the show. It was such a great show. As a Board Certified Mental Health / Psychiatry Nurse working with ages 5 to 17 this show really related to so much of the pain I help our youth through such as neglect, sexual and physical abuse, poverty. teen pregnancies, hoarding, PTSD, obesity and Anger managent, depression, and anxiety. I thought it was beautifully written and I can’t imagine not continuing a show that parallels so many lives in today’s world. Please do the right thing for your faithful viewers of the show.
