Despite being the only soap opera to air new episodes throughout all of the 2019-20 season, Days of Our Lives remained the lowest-rated of the four remaining network soaps. As per usual, it seemed possible that it could be cancelled by the peacock network but NBC gave Days an early renewal in November 2019. However, some members of the cast have either been let go or have chosen to leave the series, in part because of cost-cutting measures. Will this venerable soap be renewed for season 57 for the 2021-22 broadcast season or, could this series really be in its final days this time? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Premiering on November 8th of 1965, Days of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. It revolves around the members of the Brady, Horton, and DiMera families — along with their friends, enemies, and lovers. Castmembers include Lucas Adams, Kristian Alfonso, Lamon Archey, Matthew Ashford, Camila Banus, Nadia Bjorlin, Mary Beth Evans, Billy Flynn, Galen Gering, Linsey Godfrey, Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Jay Kenneth Johnson, Lauren Koslow, Eric Martsolf, Marci Miller, Stephen Nichols, Melissa Reeves, James Reynolds, Suzanne Rogers, Sal Stowers, Alison Sweeney, Josh Taylor, Paul Telfer, Robert Scott Wilson, and Arianne Zucker.

I have watched Days from its inception. I am very disturbed with the writers and their Satanic writing. We shouldn’t have to watch it again. Put some good writing forward and get rid of some of the worst actors. I am ready to quit watching
I agree! The Devil scenario is only one of the many melodramatic themes we viewers have endured! It’s been so conflicted that the episodes are exhausting, predictable, and boring! Bring back some quality writing!!!
have watched days of our life for years but not any more because the plot to it is way off and not sure what the reason is . devils and dead people comming back no thank you.
I just don’t get why the writers have chosen such a dark path, as it’s not working at all? Bring back some normalcy and steadiness. I feel like you are trying to impersonate “Dark Shadows.” It’s hard to find a decent character that you can legitimately like…occasional stability would work in your favor and not all this ‘hocus locus’ nonsense that you are perpetuating.

Have watched since the beginning! This devil return is sooo old school and boring and you are messing with the newlyweds as you did with her parents. Life has been rough for 2 years, give us a break and have somebody happy!!
I love Days and have been watching since I was a teenager. However, I am disappointed with the direction it’s going involving the supernatural and the devil. If it continues, I’ll be an ex-fan and never watch again. Many viewers feel this way, so I hope you take this into consideration regarding the future storyline.

Bringing back the Devil in Marlena is not very inspiring. I will quit watching Days of Our Lives until December. Hopefully by December, the Devil will have left the show. If you could fit episodes in about the Covid Pandemic and how it affects people around you that are not vaccinated, maybe it would help the anti-vaxxers to get vaccinated to keep everyone healthy.
Been watching the show for about a year now and really liked it I haven’t watched any soap operas in a long time I have to be real honest I’m not really crazy about this new devil person in the show first of all just doesn’t make any sense and if it isn’t when the if the devil does get in my body I’d rather go to the horror show and watch a movie about the devil I hope that you guys decide to take it out real soon thank you

Terrible story lines that bounce around, left unfinished, and uninteresting. Trying to stay in current social climate and failing by not following through by tap dancing around. No fault of actors. A shame they are not staying true to their characters. The writers & producers should get back bones and get back to telling stories of the characters and stop tap dancing…they suck at dancing…. This is why i stopped watching after decades of being a fan.

Yes.DOOL Should Stay on tv indefinitely Well Past Season 57-58.At Least Until Season 60,then if cast& crew don’t want to do it anymore end it.As it is my favorite series’s on NBC. Keep Cin/Ceo Alive until then!
Needs to go back to 60s and 70s. Really got gross starting with men kissing, esp in bed, ugh
