Now that there’s a script, when can we expect that Deadwood movie to happen? Recently, HBO boss Casey Bloys gave an update on the series revival, Deadline reports.
As reported earlier, creator David Milch has already finished the script for the Western drama’s follow-up film. The HBO series, which ended in 2006 after three seasons, starred Timothy Olyphant, Ian McShane, Molly Parker, Jim Beaver, W. Earl Brown, Kim Dickens, Brad Dourif, and John Hawkes.
At this year’s TCA winter press tour, Bloys said the Deadwood movie could begin shooting as early as this fall:
Assuming that we could get all the actors back together, I think this is something we would do possibly next fall, fall 2018. … I’m waiting for a rewrite and we have to get the numbers right, but, assuming we can get everybody back together, I’m feeling optimistic about it.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Deadwood? Will you watch the revival movie?
One of the greatest westerns ever!!
One of the greatest westerns ever!!!
I loved this series and will go to the movie.
I bought all three seasons so definitely cannot wait for the movie…..
Two things. Show is not bad, but the constant cursing by all players is unrealistic; and the speech cadence by all players is annoying. I know you don’t want to hear that, but that’s the way I feel.
One of the best shows on TV…..ever. So happy to hear we might actually see all these unforgettable people again.
Been waiting a long time for the “tie up” show. So looking forward to this movie.
One of my all time favorite series. I look forward to the movie hoping all of the original cast is available.
Will absolutely be watching this movie! Great HBO series. Hoping they can get Ian McShane and Tim Olyphant on board.
