A gritty crime drama with the flavor of a classic Western, Deputy was created by Will Beall. The show follows an ensemble of ambitious and complicated people who won’t rest until justice is served.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is one of the largest police forces in the world, but when the elected Sheriff dies, an arcane rule in the county charter (forged back in the Wild West) suddenly thrusts the most unlikely man into the job. A true “white hat”, Bill Hollister (Dorff) is a fifth-generation lawman and is only interested in justice.
Under Hollister’s command is a county-wide crew of LA’s finest. They include Deputy Cade Ward (Van Holt), a former Marine who’s eight years sober and one of Hollister’s few confidantes; highly intelligent and sarcastic Deputy Brianna Bishop (Taylor-Klaus); and Deputy Joseph Harris (McGhie), the son of Hollister’s fallen partner.
Hollister frequently butts heads with Doctor Paula Reyes (Martinez) of LA County General Hospital. She’s the hospital’s chief trauma surgeon and also, his wife.
Given a job he never wanted that includes an unfamiliar sea of politics, Hollister quickly learns that doing what is expected and doing what is right are two different things. His innate, dogged pursuit of justice is the only skill the job truly requires.
Episode #13 — 10-8 Bulletproof
When informants for the Sherriff’s Department start turning up dead all over Los Angeles, everyone has to work together to find the leak in the department. Meanwhile, Teresa and Cade deal with a major setback in the custody battle for their foster children. Also, on the day of Maggie’s Quinceanera, Bill gets stuck in a difficult position between work and family.

Can FOX sell the series to another affiliate that will run with it, this show is definitely one of the greats, the writers are amazing, definitely 5 star.
Please bring back Deputy!

Hi. We really loved this show! It was good to see a Sheriff with some back bone who was just trying to bring Justice to Los Angeles! Fictional can sometimes ne a real thing for some of us who live in small town America who just want a good sheriff who has some Go…S to do his job ! Fox open your eyes the people want deputy back. Had most of us known there was a place to vote and how do the 18-40 group be the ones to like a show? For adult tv try the 30-50 range you would have had higher ratings additionally do you know how many people watch next day on Hulu? We had 7 in our house alone that loved this show and watched at different times on playback. Sad thing I can’t even watch reruns as it’s locked to fox subscribers so a show I really liked got cut at season 1… Read more »
Deputy showed us what a Sheriff with principles looks like. A white cowboy married to a Mexican who dances with his daughter at her Quinceañera. He sees every person as a human being, i.e.: What’s your race = human race. He expects all of his colleagues’ to be honest, fair and enforce the law equally. He stands up to bureaucrats who manipulate procedures to remain in power. This show just got interesting when Bill Hollister (Dorff) decided to run for Sheriff. He fight for what he believe and never back down so let that mean the show goes on for few more season.
I feel the same as Barbara. When a show teaches the correct way the law should be, some dictator from a network puts it down because he doesn’t think people should see that way.
I don’t know what it is but every time I find a television show that I really like, it gets CANCELLED…. Deputy is a really good show that I know has a lot of fans. PLEASE change your mind about cancelling it.

Pleases don’t cancel DEPUTY…… It is one of my very favorites……FOX always cancels the good show……I dislike shows such as The Masked Singer ….they are not entertaining enough…..I like shows with good plots…..Bring it back.

This was literally the best show on prime time television. Whatever those little basement city geeks are using in there algorithm, is wrong! They need to factor in other demographics. Deputy was a show, that used it’s platform to send a positive message. Everything being put on television is horror, or zombie type genres.
WQhy was the series cancelled…..was it exposing the truth on how police departments are being manipulated against the public by beaurocrats and the wealthy Elite….and One sheriff was standing up to it…..some police departments have LOST their way…and not abiding by the Sworn Oath / pledge that each officer takes
