TV show description:
This musical drama series revolves around a family that’s at the center of a hip hop music empire.
A former drug dealer, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) is the CEO of Empire Entertainment, a hugely successful music company. His life is turned upside down when he learns that he has ALS and must now choose one of his three sons as his successor.
Eldest son Andre (Trai Bryers) is Wharton-educated, power-hungry, and married to manipulative Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday).
Middle child Jamal (Jussie Smollett) is a talented gay singer-songwriter who’s long been seen as the black sheep of the family and despises the corporate side of the music industry.
Fame-obsessed Hakeem (Bryshere Gray, aka Yazz The Greatest) is a fame-obsessed rising hip hop artist, the baby of the clan, and his father’s favorite.
Complicating matters is the boys’ mother and Lucious’ ex-wife, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), who emerges from prison to claim her share of the empire. She helped build the company with Lucious and then took the fall for running drugs that helped finance his early career.
Other characters include Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey), head of Empire Entertainment A&R and Lucious’ love interest; Vernon Turner (Malik Yoba), Lucious’ longtime friend and business partner; and Becky Williams (Gabourey Sidibe), Lucious’ executive assistant.
Episode #102 — Home Is on the Way
In the midst of the Bossyfest launch and the fight to regain control of Empire, Cookie reflects on her life and the woman she has become. Lucious finds it impossible to deny his feelings for Cookie while continuing to support Yana (guest Kiandra Richardson) and her rise to stardom. When the Lyons face their biggest threat yet, Lucious prepares for the battle of his life and realizes that in the end, family is what matters the most.
First aired: April 21, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the Empire TV show? Do you think it should have ended? Would you have renewed it for a seventh season?
Done with this show
Never going to watch Empire again. Total disgrace.
Just saw the news, and caught the comments from some of the stars of the show. I don’t know what disgusts me more – Smollet, Henson’s comments or the justice system. Who am I kidding? They all make me sick. When you got the Mayor AND the Police stand together (and both of them are hypocrites, too!)- IN CHICAGO – something reeks on the other side. EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS JUSSIE SMOLLET’S WORK, MOVEMENTS, LIVING ARRANGEMENTS, HAIR GREASE, SUNGLASSES, ETC., SHOULD BE BOYCOTTED – PERIOD. These stars do wrong, make us look like a fool, and then they keep… Read more »
While I thoroughly enjoyed the show, and tried to be open-minded about Jussie’s legal issues, his blatant lying that the charges were completely dropped and he was the victim of an attack really bother me. Add to that Taraji Henson’s statement saying the truth came out which absolutely infuriates me. All I know is that I will never watch the show again, and will be an outspoken critic of the show until he is formally fired from the cast of Empire. With the ratings as low as they have been lately, obviously I am not alone in my feelings.
I will continue watching the show if you FIRE the criminal that was let off the hook when he
committed the crime. Many man hours of work by the police. Or I will no longer watch.
I have never watched “Empire” and I will not watch in the future. However, if it continues with Jussie Smollet in the cast I will boycott its advertisers.
I WILL NEVER WATCH THE SHOW AGAIN. WHAT A JOKE THAT THE ACTOR SAYS HE IS NOT GUILTY. I WOULD BE IN JAIL. KEEP YOUR SHOW.
Cancel this series
Please do not cancel this great Empire show. I have been on pins and needle waiting for this show to return. They is nothing like this show.
Used to be a fan untill the crash
please keep it going i live for this show love it plllleeaseee
show is great, however like many shows it has only 8 or 10 episodes per season. People get tired of waiting for so little. I would prefer a long lasting series with 23 or 24 like it used to be when series were awesome to watch week after week.
Awesome show, KEEP IT GOING!!!
