What’s This TV Show About?
A scripted Showtime comedy, Episodes stars Matt LeBlanc as a fictionalized version of himself. The cast also includes Tamsin Greigas, Stephen Mangan, John Pankow, Kathleen Rose Perkins, and Mircea Monroe. The fifth season kicks off several months after the season four finale. Although Matt’s gameshow is a big hit, his acting career has faded into obscurity. Things aren’t going too well for Sean (Mangan) and Beverly (Greig), either. Sean’s former partner is now running their new series, The Opposite of Us. Now they have to stand by and watch as this untalented hack ruins their TV series.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of Episodes averaged a 0.05 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 279,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 66% and down by 20%, respectively. Learn how Episodes stacks up against the other Showtime TV shows.
On April 11, 2016 Showtime announced Episodes was ending with the fifth season. The last episode aired October 8, 2017. Could it be revived someday? Stay tuned for further updates.

You don’t have to worry whether Episodes will be cancelled or renewed for season six. In April of 2016, when Showtime announced the fifth installment was in production, they confirmed it would be the final season — at the request of creators David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik. We’re still tracking the ratings though, because they provide perspective when considering the cancellation or renewal chances of other Showtime TV shows, as well as the likelihood of an Episodes spin-off or sequel series. Loved episodes on Netflix. The show was funny, original with never a dull moment. All the actors did a great job drawing you into their individual plights within the entertainment industry.
I think that the show should have been advertised better! It’s 2021 and just learned about it and couldn’t stop watching until it was done! It needs to be brought back! I know I’m a nobody but heck I can write it! There’s so many different directions it can go!!!!
I can’t believe that Episodes ended at five, brilliantly written, directed and acted, it was fantastic I’ve binge watched the whole thing! PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

I just finished the last season of Episodes and I am so sad that it is over. You can tell that this series was written with a lot of heart. of all the crappy shows, this was actually one of the best to sit down and watch, I even got my husband to like it! I realize now that this show has been over for some time now, however if it did ever come back, I’m sure that the ratings would go up, it just needed time to get around. I have grown slightly attached to all of the characters and I cried so hard when I saw that Monty and Harper had not put themselves in cryo sleep. Then I realized that there had to be a reason so I was like ok we got this. Then i found out the reason and I cried even more. Pity that not enough people have given this show a chance. Once I got Showtime a year ago and found Epidodes, I power watched it and got current. I found the show to be cleverly written and very, very funny. If this is the end, I will really miss it. Best thing I’ve seen Matt do since Friends, maybe better. GREAT job to the writers. Thank you for the five seasons. Enjoyed every character in their own way.
My wife and I find the writing brilliant and the acting divine. We would love to see another five years (15 episodes/year). Love all the characters and their quirks. Best show on screen!
