What’s This TV Show About?
A psychological thriller streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, Fortitude stars Richard Dormer, Sofie Gråbøl, Sienna Guillory, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Mia Jexen, Alexandra Moen, Luke Treadaway, Dennis Quaid, Michelle Fairley, Edvin Endre, and Ken Stott. This TV series takes place in Fortitude, an international community in the Arctic, with inhabitants from many parts of the world. A gruesome murder and a dangerous pathogen are threatening the future of the town itself. In season two, a new body is discovered. Now, Eric (Haraldsson) must step up and lead this horrific investigation. Meanwhile, fisherman Michael Lennox (Quaid) is struggling to come to terms with his terminally ill wife and will do anything for a cure.
As of February 2, 2025, Amazon has not cancelled or renewed Fortitude for season three, but on January 25, 2018, Sky Atlantic announced a third and final season renewal. Will Amazon do the same? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless Amazon releases streaming “ratings,” it is difficult to measure the success or failure of streaming TV shows like Fortitude. Critical acclaim and buzz is also important to services that rely on keeping viewers subscribed. In the US, Fortitude originally ran on the now defunct cable channel, Pivot. The series, however is a British production that airs on Sky Atlantic and Canada’s Super Channel, which defrays the cost for Amazon. if this series can’t make it. I do not get it… it’s one of the best I’ve seen..
We have been hooked on Fortitude since Stanley Tuccci first showed up there. We are going crazy to know if Sherriff Dan will continue terrorizing the town. Puh-leeese give us the last four episodes of the series. Give us closure! I’d even be happy to pay individually for the last four episodes. Just give us a way to watch these last four episodes in Season 3.
The scenery alone is enough to bring back Fortitude. Who else films a TV series on a glacier? I dearly want to find out what’s up with the sheriff. Alive? Dead? Possessed? The use of a featured guest star for each season adds to my anticipation. Who will it be for Season 3, and what will they bring to the show’s dynamic?
It’s an excellent series, and should be renewed. It’s such an obscure gem, it deserves a much wider audience.

Yes you need to release the third season of Fortitude, I just got done watching the first two seasons and have frantically been searching for the third one. Obviously there are are many unanswered questions, so yes please release season three on Amazon Prime. Thank you so much.
There is not much I LOVE on television as I have loved Fortitude. There are good actors, good plot, suspense, action, etc. all in one. Please don’t let those of us who have enjoyed it so much have to imagine an ending. Most frustrating. Thanks, C M Means
Please AMAZON do Fortitude Fans a solid and release Season 3. Too many series don’t plan for a next season and therefore leave you hanging. I understand this is a limited episode season 3…..SO JUST RELEASE IT. CLOSURE IS NICE.

Please renew!! I generally do not like these types of shows, but boy this one is the one to beat in mine and my boyfriends opinion. Love the characters, and really liking Dan now. Is that wrong? Anyways, we want more and have to see how this plays out. Missing Hildy!
