Ray Donovan‘s Steven Bauer has joined the Four Stars TV series pilot at CBS. Bauer has been cast as General Rodriguez, opposite Bruce Greenwood‘s General Buckley. Ana Kayne (Ana Cruz Kayne) plays daughter Syd Rodriguez.
The first actor cast in the pilot, Wilmer Valderrama, plays son Matt Rodriguez. Ashley Zukerman is set as Danny, the son of Greenwood’s Buckley.
Deadline says:
Cuban-American actor Bauer (born Esteban Ernesto Echevarría Samson) will play the patriarch of the Rodriguez clan, Gen. Rodriguez, the four‐star general in charge of the entire Middle East – and the consummate soldier‐statesman. Greenwood plays his rival, four-star Gen. Buckley, with Ashley Zukerman cast as Buckley’s son and Wilmer Valderrama and Ana Cruz Kayne as Rodriguez’s offspring.
Bauer currently plays Avi Rudin on Showtime‘s Ray Donovan TV series. Because Showtime and CBS are sister networks, Deadline reports that if Four Stars is ordered to series, Bauer will be able to do both shows.
Four Stars is set in Tampa, FL. The pilot features the Buckley and Rodriguez families. They are headed by powerful rival patriarchs, who make high level national security decisions.
CBS ordered Four Stars in February. Becky Mode is writing the pilot. She will executive produce with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. Director RJ Cutler (Nashville) is also an executive producer.
What do you think? How do you like the cast of the Four Stars TV show pilot, so far? If CBS orders Four Stars to series, do you think you’ll watch?
