This season, ABC found ratings success with their new sitcom Black-ish and is sure to be renewed for a second season. How will Fresh Off The Boat perform? Cancelled or season two? We’ll have to wait and see.
On Fresh Off the Boat, a Taiwanese family moves from Chinatown in Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida. They open a steak restaurant and experience serious culture shock while pursuing the American Dream. The family members are played by Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler, and Ian Chen.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

What do you think? Do you like the Fresh Off the Boat TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Fresh off the Boat is really bad…… watched 2 episodes and won’t watch it again !!
Of ABC’s 3 new race-based comedies, only CRISTELA is mildly tolerable. BLACKISH and BOAT are obnoxious and racist. None of them compare favorably to THE MIDDLE or THE GOLDBERGS.
I wonder if they are giving Margaret Cho a little something something for stealing her stand up routine for 20 years ago and basically mimicking the original version of All American Girl? Yeah, didn’t think so
I seem to like the “ethnic” comedies that have come out this year. Maybe because I understand when a joke is meant as a joke and when a slur is meant as a slur.
4 epys in and still funny!
Humor is very subjective, of course. I liked it, my wife loved it. I can see why it wouldn’t be for everyone.
I watch it for as long as I could before I found it unbearable. Another show I never need to see again.
Margaret Cho did it so much better as a stand up routine 20 years ago.
Saw several clips and trailers, wow ( not in a good way), and these were supposed to be “highlights”? I agree, not funny at all.
Margaret Cho’s show, “All-American Girl” was fantastic before it was “retooled.”
Completely agree
Pretty true to the facts about life in the USA (the South is the worse to live because the black & white issues, etc.) but also funny how people within this country are still playing the race car. Nothing has change but time. The Asian as whole has no leadership to be as one. Sad!
the diversity lineup has its clean up hitter. Gay McCarthy’s has been pulled. Hispanic Cristela is low rated and may only get renewed cause its on Friday. Black-ish is losing ratings rapidly even after the big MF lead in. And now its time for number 4 to finally hit the airwaves “Asian” FOTB. time will tell, but so far negative stereotypes and dated “ethnic” jokes are fairing so well.
“ethnic” jokes are fairing so well. should read are NOT fairing well
Is this suppose to be funny? Not! How many stereotypes can you pack into a half hour. I guess they were going for the opposite of politically correct and succeeded. If this is what entertainment is supposed to be I’ll pass. I thought we had evolved beyond cheap jokes at the expense of others that aren’t even funny. Guess not.
this show is a horrible remake/version/spin of Margaret Cho’s stand up routine from the early 90s.
We watched both of them yesterday…had them recorded. Sorry I only thought the beginning was cute. After that we didn’t laugh at a single stupid joke. I really had high hopes for this one, too. But won’t watch it again.
There are 3 new ‘racial’ comedies this season all from ABC, “Cristela”, “Black-ish”, and now “Fresh Off the Boat”. I think Cristela is quite funny, newer episodes focus less on white people saying dumb things about Latinos and more about “poking fun” at Cristela’s situations and culture from the inside. The acting and story telling are excellent but I have a problem with “Black-ish” with there being too many homophobic remarks, but not questioned. “Fresh Off the Boat” is set in the ’90s so some of the ‘ignorant’ things white people say are dated based in the context of the… Read more »
Too soon to tell. I enjoyed the show. The husband and son very likeable.
Episode 1 & 2 were on Wednesday. Not Tuesday
Thanks for noting that typo.
Only episodes 1 & 2 are on Wednesday. The rest will be on Tuesdays

So far not a bad show. Will watch next week and give my thoughts for Make or Break.
