General Hospital has some new company. TVLine reports One Life to Live star James DePaiva (pictured, left) has joined the ABC soap in a “top secret” role.
DePaiva played Max Holden on One Life to Live from 1987 to 2003. The long-running soap stopped airing on ABC in 2012, a year after All My Children also ended. Currently, General Hospital is the only daytime soap left on the network, where it’s been airing since 1963.
While DePaiva’s role on General Hospital is being kept under wraps, you can check out the show’s announcement below:

I’m happy to hear this. I like him. 🙂 p.s. OLTL didn’t go off the air “a year” after AMC. AMC went off the air around Sept 2011. OLTL last aired Jan 2012. Splitting hairs? Perhaps. But a few months does not a year make!
I CAN’T WAIT!!! I’m thrilled. I almost wish he was coming to GH as Max Holden – like Hillary B. Smith came as Nora Buchanan – it’s so great for us ABC soap family fans! But I’ll take him any way they decide to use him. He’s a terrific actor. Bring MORE people with him!!!! Bring Viki and the Buchanans! They’d make great rivals for the Quartermaines, and Viki would fill in a gap that Jane Elliot has left (in a way). There are so many interesting things they could do with the AMC and OLTL characters …… Yay!

As for me and my family we Do not care about anything on ABC OR IT’S SPONSORS AND WHEN THEY CANCELLED TIM ALLEN AND THE LAST MAN STANDING THE ONLY SHOW THAT WE CARED ABOUT, WELL WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ABOUT ABD BUT BOYCOTTING THEM AND BOYCOTTING THEM WE ARE DOING!!!!!!!
