Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
I absolutely cannot believe this … my wife and I am never miss an episode…Now so much for Sunday night at 8 o’clock… This really stinks
I love this show! No blood and guts and gore! Sad!
The best show on TV and now they’re going to cancel it and probably put some more crappy sci fi in its place. There are very few shows on TV that are fit to watch as it is!
Love, love, love this show !! Seriously must everything be hospitals, fire dept, police depts & law ?!?! ( I do watch those !) This is such a great family show & a feel good show much like Hallmark movies ! & you may want to pay attention to 50 year olds & up for what is watched !!! We are not out partying, or raising families -who don’t have time to watch. And don’t even get me started on Reality shows! Now that Hawaii 50 was ended ( which is yet another travesty) put ‘God’ on Friday nights at… Read more »
I’m about ready to cancel satellite and not watch any television anymore. Every show I really like gets cancelled way before its time. I’m sick and tired of getting involved with the characters and storylines and never having any answers when they decide that viewership is down. I got a little clue for these idiot…a lot of people have been sick or are caring for sick. They didn’t have time for your shows. Nobody should be cancelled right now!
No CBS show scheduled on a Sunday evening between September through February stands a chance. Football season knocks every scheduled show out of alignment, & it gets even worse because 60 minutes always gets shown regardless of the time.
It’s all down to politics – CBS Television Studio only co-owns a part of this show (Much like MAGNUM PI is a co-production with Universal Television and CRIMINAL MINDS was co-produced with ABC Studios/Touchstone Television) if this was a fully owned CBS Television Studio show, it would have had a better chance of staying on the air. This show could have been pushed into the Sunday at 10pm slot.
This is the first Drama they have canceled after only two seasons IN YEARS.
This is such a great family show. I am so sadden that it might not return. I enjoyed the hope it conveyed. Please don’t take it away. Patti Owens
I love this show ! 6 million viewers is good plus a lot of other people watch that are not tallied. Makes no sense to cancel this show. The shows the level of anti God sentiment in the mainstream media. makes no sense because HALLMARK now has two channels.
I would love to see a season 3 of God friended me, CBS should put God friended me on its sister station like it dud Super Girl instead of cancelling the show
I’m sorry they are canceling this show. Enjoyed seeing people care about others and how families can be families even with their differences.
I lovethis show the friendship of the actors had on there the family . But they always take the shows of that are clean no sex cursing clean show please don’t take this show of the air we need encouragement
With world conditions thank you
No No No…please DO NOT cancel this inspirational show that is ESSENTIAL particularly during these times.
I am sad….
We really loved God Friended Me and really don’t want it canceled. Change your mind and renew.
I watch it every week since the pilot! What a shame CBS….clearly you don’t understand a good thing!
