Sorry, Greg Grunberg. It turns out that Ali Larter might just be right. It seems that the Heroes wrap-up movie isn’t happening.
As fans know all too well, after NBC cancelled Heroes in May, there was talk about wrapping up the TV show’s storylines as either a movie or a mini-series. Despite the fact that some time had passed, series creator Tim Kring recently indicated he was still optimistic.
He said, “It looks like we’re really going to start talking about it now. The summer months in television are always about preparing for the Fall launch of all the new shows, so I totally understand why there hasn’t been a lot of discussion [until now]. Once the Fall season is launched, I fully believe that this discussion will get reignited in a very big way.”
Now, according to EW sources, NBC isn’t going ahead with the project, at least for the 2010-11 season. However, that may not be the end of the Heroes universe. Kring believes that the show’s broad premise allows for many different stories to be told in many different ways.
What do you think? If not onscreen, how would you like to see Heroes continue — as books, comics, animation, web shorts, or in some other form?

Our household was very sad to see the show Heroes cancelled, we loved the storyline(s). Really NBC………
so now ? what will hapend? miniserius or movie 😕
No, why must it be gone.
This is why I will never again watch any series again! I l’ll just wait until it’s over and watch it then. If it’s worth watching I’ll here about it, then watch it on my time, sans comercials. You see what you’ve done networks?! You’ve screwed yourself! Now give us a wrap-up for Heroes!!! Gotta run, time to watch Conan on cable, where they still value the talent and the viewer…
I is such a shame that NBC has replaced Heroes with horrible programming this season. Most of thier shows this season have been cancelled or are on haitus. It just goes to show you that they don’t know what they are doing. They really need to revise thier programming and revisit what worked. Heroes was such a great show, and they replaced it with the Event and Chase which are both tanking.
This is a great example of why I don’t have cable. Cancel all the great shows with amazing writers and storyline and keep the crap that is jersey shore and shows alike. Its all about good story telling and the big Networks just don’t get it. Shows like Heroes, Lost, Dead Like Me, and Carnivale were the reasons I had cable. I would rather subscribe to Netflix and pay to watch reruns of shows that have talent associated with them. Not what show can I make for the cheapest amount of money and make the most profit. I guess the… Read more »
Please finish the series correctly!!!! That’s the only series we listen me and many of my friends!!!please!!
This is ridiculous!!! Heros was a good show. Forget NBC, CBS……sell it to HBO or Showtime.
Please, please, please at least wrap the show up. DON’T LEAVE YOUR FANS HANGING!!!!!!
I want “Heroes” to come back! Anyway!
My opinion, NBC has no rights to cancel such a gooв show. It intrigued me all the time!
Just add more spicial effects and hmm.. blood:) May be even kill some characters… anyway.
I WANT HEROES TO COME BACK!
I BELIEVE THERE’S SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT!
PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEASE!
Actually… they have ALL the “rights” to cancel the show. I mean… they ARE the network. Viewership = $$. Not ‘enough’ viewers = not enough $$. Not enough $$ = canceled. It SUX for US, but the network doesn’t shive a git about US, we’re just viewers. Kinda of a catch 22, but that’s the way it works I guess.
They should not of cancelled Heroes it was sooo good :'(
Just as they decide that it should be cancelled the viewer numbers went up so why was it axed
Also they can’t show a preview of season 5 and then not actually broadcast it, what a way to lose fans!
I think the movie idea is really exciting i would DEFINATELY watch it no matter how long it is 😀
x
I think NBC or another network needs to bring it back ASAP! I agree with the above comments that there’s too much time in between seasons but understand why they do it. Another thing they could/should have done would have been to replay the show in between seasons so (a) new viewers could get into the show by watching it from the beginning since the show was hard to follow if you didn’t watch it fromthe beginning; (b) allow people to catch up on missed shows;and (c) not let the people who do watch forget the show. I absolutely loved… Read more »
Makes me not want to bother watching any sci fi series, evryone that I liked got cancelled! Heroes, Invasion, Surface, Day Break, etc. the list goes on… They should at least wrap these shows up like they did Lost – all be it badly!
Please finish it up. I got excited when someone told me that there were online episodes finishing off the series. When I could not find them I was very sad. I vote for an online mini series finale or a 3 hour or longer movie because no matter how long it was I would sit through the entire movie.
A large amount of time in between seasons may work in the UK but not in America. This is also why I stopped watching True Blood, lost interest in it
Heroes and Lost were killed by the extended time-span between seasons. People lost interest in the shows and their characters over that time. Of course, NBC passed on “The Walking Dead” series, which tells a lot about their decision making.
