Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
Very surprised and disappointed that Intelligence was cancelled. We enjoyed the show very much, Good story line, good acting. Sorry it was canceled.
I am very disappointed that Intelligence was cancelled. I think the show had a lot of potential if given a chance in a different time slot.
I’m so dis
This show was awesome. Problem was time slot…it was up against Castle and Blacklist…
Different night or just different time, this show would dominate!
I loved this show, it was awesome! Deserved a season two… looks like we have another Firefly in the ointment…
I thoroughly enjoyed Intelligence. The characters were likeable; I looked forward to it each week. I think CBS should bring it back!
Just crazy!!! This was a great show!!! Easily a top fav and who doesnt want to see josh Holloway in action! This why CBS sucks. They keep junk and ditch the great potential!! Grrr
Intelligence was my favorite new show this year. I am quite disappointed CBS did not give this modern crime drama a longer chance to develop. The time slot was the problem not the show. Intelligence was well cast and well written. Perhaps CBS will reconsider.
First and foremost, the show was top notch, a.k.a, it was BANGIN’! Maybe it played too much on political fears and the penchant for 100 more hackers to get involved in their invasions of computers via Internet. The reincarnation of the original ’24’ merged with a TV show version of “TRON”?? CBS’s biggest mistake was showing it on Mondays when other shows have failed! It even inspired me to attempt to view another spy movie, “Transcendence”! PERSONAL SUGGESTION: Bring it back on a Thursday, then repeat what was done to “Hawaii Five-O” after a few successful seasons.
Too bad it canceled. I thought it had great writing and enough energy in the plot to carry it. Great chemistry in the cast.
Just another example of why CBS is the Clueless Broadcasting System.
What else is new!
Another great show gone and down the tubes. Networks get the viewers hooked, then pull the plug..Gone! Sucks!

I enjoyed the show-canceling the show was the wrong decision!!!
What a shock! This is a really good show. I’m disappointed that CBS is giving it only one season.
