TV show description:
A fantasy comedy-drama from creators Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, the Kevin (Probably) Saves the World TV show centers on Kevin Finn. While he is not the world’s worst person, Kevin is self-involved, self-centered, and materialistic.
He is just starting to wake up to the fact that his obsessions with status and possessions have not brought him any happiness. At his lowest moment, Kevin is confronted with an incredible mission: it is up to him to save the world.
While wallowing in his own misery, Kevin goes back home to Texas to stay with family. A widow, Amy (Swisher) is his twin sister, and the mother of a teenaged daughter, Reese (East). Their relationship has faded with time and distance, so Kevin doubts they can repair their connection.
There, Kevin experiences a sequence of unbelievable events — not the least of which is a meteorite crashing near the family home. He then meets Yvette (Gregory), his heavenly guide. She informs him that 36 righteous souls are born into each generation. Their very existence protects the world, and he is the very last of his generation.
Humanity is on the precipice of a catastrophe. Without the 36, everyone on Earth will begin to lose the only thing keeping them going — hope. Whether or not he wants to fulfill it, Kevin’s mission is to “power up” his soul. The only way to do so is by committing selfless acts of kindness.
Should he stay on the straight and narrow, Kevin will eventually be able to locate and anoint the next generation of righteous souls. Yvette, meanwhile, will protect and guide him, train and instruct him, and most of all, brook no insolence from him.
Series Finale:
Episode #16 — The Right Thing
Kevin struggles with the idea that his relationship with Kristin might be in jeopardy while helping a stranger honor his deceased uncle’s burial wishes. Yvette makes a drastic decision regarding her future with Kevin by involving a celestial colleague named Cindy (Leslie Jones guest stars); and Amy receives an unexpected visit that changes everything.
First aired: March 6, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Kevin (Probably) Saves the World TV series? Should this TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on ABC?
I can’t say enough how much I LOVE this show, there was FINALLY a fantastic and actually crazy funny comedy show that was CLEAN and not focused on sex or hostility and it’s taken off the air?!?!? I don’t understand that, it needs to come back, people NEED a show like this, showing morals and compassion and just amazing good clean REFRESHING humor!!!! Jason Ritter is such a gem of an actor, he has bee blessed with his dad’s way of just making the audience fall in love with him!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!
Our family loved it. Why the hell was it cancelled?!
What is wrong with ABC? Why do they keep cancelling all of the good, uplifting, entertaining shows? KEVIN PROBABLY…. was a great show! Jason Ritter is such a good actor, so versatile, great comedic timing like his dad, good at the dramatic and romantic parts too! I hope another network (maybe one other than the major 3) picks this up and continues it! Kevin & Tyler are the perfect pair as best buds too.
I am so disappointed that they canceled this show. I hope another network picks up the show. I enjoyed the positive message this show gave us. Kardashians and shows like that are on the air while shows like this, which promote a positive message is canceled? Don’t understand it. Hope someone picks it up.
Really enjoyed this show. Saddened that yet again corporate greed makes final call on what should be aired and cancelled. I’d much rather watch more seasons of this than most any other show airing on any channel. While your at it, cancel all news channels/shows, all they do is spew stupidity and talk about petty crimes, never anything positive that happens.
Why would they cancel this show?!?!? It was a great show with a positive message in a time where we needed something this uplifting most. My 6 year old son and I loved to watch the show together. Please bring it back!
Other than a couple of your comedies, this was one of the only shows I watch on ABC. And it’s the only one that could make me turn the channel from NBC to ABC. You (ABC) started it off in the 10pm time slot on Tuesdays… when most people just finished watching This Is Us and were likely to watch whatever came on next. The Law and Order Menendez trial probably kept a lot of people tuned in. I watched it, so unfortunately I didn’t get turned on to Kevin (Probably) Saves the World until late in the game. I… Read more »
Very well said!!! You tell em
This was a great, family show with a positive message, why would you cancel it!
This was my favorite show, disappointed it was cancelled. Funny, interesting and well done television. A real Shame it is not coming back.
I loved this show sorry to see it go BRING IT BACK
It should be illegal to cancel a series without finishing the story…….no?
Really cute and uplifting show. Something I could sit down and watch with my granddaughter (9) and it had a good
message of doing things for others. Once again another good show booted off for another crummy vulgar laced so
called comedy no doubt. You people just don’t get it!
Why do they always cancel positive shows. This show was an awesome show with a wonderful cast. TV moguls need to quite putting reality shows cop shows and hospital shows on and keep the positive upbeat funny shows on air. It is getting to a point I watch net flicks more than regular TV how sad is that. A lot of us are tried of the violence and blood and guts that so many TV shows now have. Bring this show back!!!!!
This show always make me smile & happy after watch. Lift up my spirit
, sadly canceled. If you want peace & no fighting in the world or at least less shooting in schools please put this show back. One thing I noticed is if the show is good but new actors or new actresses the shows more likely cancel then another shows come replace it w/known actor & actress. It’s a steal ideas. Don’t support these!
I really liked Kevin Probably Saves The World and am deeply disappointed they cancelled it. It wasn’t filthy like so much that is on TV now. I hope the network comes to its senses and renews it.
