Year-to-year, the network was up slightly but that’s not very encouraging when you consider ABC was airing the big bomb known as Charlie’s Angels. It was a distant third in its timeslot in the demo and a close third in viewers — behind The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men on CBS and The X Factor on FOX. This is a tough timeslot but Last Resort clearly didn’t rise to the challenge.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Last Resort TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love this show, I’m a viewer from Uk and would love a change of mind and a 2nd series, think about it, I for one would be grateful. Go on do it…….
A great show, a definite contender for the most gripping current show. A stupid knee jerk reaction to poor time slot selection. That is not the fault of the show. Everyone I know that has seen this, does not miss an episode no matter what. I hope another network picks this up and shows the rest of the population what a great show this is and pulls in the ratings.
The show is too good to cancel. The time slot is terrible. Should be a 10:oo pm show. The creators should shop it around. If not, it sure was a great ride.
As a person that seems to work 14- 16 hour days, I always try to make time to be home to watch the intrigue of each new episode. I am disheartened to learn this evening that the show will not be continued. It portrays a valid alternative to our current political and world situation. Though from a military standpoint, some areas are weak, it does provoke some thought in relation to our Constitution and the rights and responsibilities of the American public.
Not only do I watch it on Thursday evenings , but also online with less commercial interruption , so I get to enjoy it even more. ABC should be ashamed that they’re cancelling this awesome show ! Love the cast as well as the plot. Sad to see you go : (
Also , what the heck was the reason for cancelling 666 Park Avenue ?
Yet Another show with a great cast and story line bites the dust : (
Hello CBS and NBC….guess whose shows I’ll be watching now ?
This is sad news for me. As a veteran Submariner; I was getting into this show. Not so much for the techi-sub stuff (because the real deal is different) but strictly for an entertainment i could relate to as well as look forward to watching after being pretty much saturated with comedy and chick-dramas over the years of trying to watch the tube.
why cant they just put it in a timeslot with a better chance for them???
I will be highly upset if Last Resort is canceled. This is my SHOW! The show Jericho was canceled and the fans had a fit. I have been waiting for weeks for last resort……bring back my tv show. Please!!!!!!!! Can we say if ABC won’t broadcast it how about another network!!!!!!!!!!
I agree I’m so upset that show was the best thing on network tv the plot and actors were all great but the ratings couldn’t beat other shows on Thursday I hope the creators take it somewhere else
It is a shame that they have cancelled this show and are keeping the boring and actually stupid reality shows. We looked forward to Thursday nights because of it. The intrigue of the plot and the caliber of acting went way beyond any of the other shows.
unbelievable that this will get cancelled, but other **** crap shows get to stay? wtf is wrong with people these days. sto stupid
Great show. Could it happen??
Never know, Andre brings the whole theme to life.
What a shame a show of this caliber is being canceled when compared to the regular crap that is dished out every day.
I am so dissappointed that tv like Nashville and the X Factor get to keep ruining my primetime watching pleasure, and thoughtful shows like Last Resort get tossed away because people are too focused on instant gratification to put much effort into thinking through a real drama. When will networks stop dumbing down tv and offer a real variety for everyone, not just the easily amused. Thank you for keeping shows such as Scandal and Castle.
great show. can’t believe it’s cut and the worst shows are saved. makes no sense.
incredible actors, well written. ABC made big mistake letting this one go.
Last Resort is definitely the best show if its kind on the air in 2012. I haven’t watched any weekly television since Lost and 24 ended and just when we finally have imaginative, interesting action drama, it gets cancelled due to the network’s foolish decision to run it against well-established shows on other networks. Give me a break!! I’m glad they’re not running any type of business that matters to the world. For crying out loud, have some scruples and keep this very entertaining and thought-provoking show on the air. Run it at the right time slot to be successful.… Read more »
I am shocked by the news that my favorite show since 24, that is in fact, the only show I watch in the week, is being yanked. A show with some imagination and a sort of historical fiction in our own time is so much more interesting than 99% of the trash that Hollywood and the networks keep putting out. I think this show explores the importance of personal ethics and morality in a way few recent shows have. Shame on ABC for giving up on this significant contribution to the viewer’s options this year. All of your reasons are… Read more »
