What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, The Last Tycoon stars Matt Bomer, Kelsey Grammer, Lily Collins, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dominique McElligott, Enzo Cilenti, Mark O’Brien, Jessica De Gouw, Koen De Bouw, Jennifer Beals, Saul Rubinek, and Eion Bailey.
Inspired by the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, the period drama centers on “Hollywood’s Golden Boy” Monroe Stahr (Bomer). The young producer struggles with studio boss Pat Brady (Grammer), over the path they should take. The two clash, when the Nazi regime informs them that they will have to abide by Hitler’s standards, if they want to release their films in Germany. Set during the Great Depression — as Hitler’s influence grows in Europe — The Last Tycoon chronicles the high and lows of the film industry, in 1930s Hollywood.
As of September 11, 2017, The Last Tycoon is cancelled, with no season two. Stay tuned for further updates.

I just finished season one of the Last Tycoon. I thought it was wonderful! Too bad someone made the decision not to have a season two. This was one of best Amazon produced. Really, really disappointed in Amazon.
Excellent series. Very disappointed that there isn’t going to be a second season. Excellent acting, intelligent material and enough drama to keep us interested. Sick of crap t.v. Do more shows like this and less with vampires!!!
I am furious that they went against what they said and instead of filming a second season, they decided to axe it and then renew a series that wasn’t supposed to be renewed!! Jeff Bezos is out of his mind!!! this show had an almost 5 star rating from THOUSANDS of people! that means renew!! HELLOO AMAZON, WAKE UP AND DO YOUR JOB ! THE PEOPLE WANT MORE , SO MAKE MORE SEASONS!!!
Should have done a Season 2 this was a great show and so many people are disappointed
Please go to IMDB and rate 10/10
Perhaps by increasing the current of 7.9/10, they will give us a season 2 and beyond!!!!!
Just finished last episode of Season 1 of Last Tycoon. I loved it. Please, please, please bring it back. It’s a great show!!
Very disappointed to hear The Last Tycoon has been cancelled. I found it well written and acted, and the mood was excellent. Is there any forum to encourage Amazon to change its mind?
Great series; intelligent, with intrigue, romance, and style. But, since it didn’t have zombies, I guess it wasn’t right for today’s shallow tv execs. Too bad.
