Is Elliot Stable returning to Law & Order: SVU? TVLine reports Chris Meloni may return for the NBC TV show’s upcoming 21st season.
Meloni played Detective Elliot Stabler on the crime drama from seasons one through 12. The series currently stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino, and Philip Winchester.
Although Meloni hasn’t announced return to Law & Order: SVU, showrunner Warren Leight says he’s hopeful the former star will reprise his role in the future:
Look: I assume that if some year, some decade, couple decades from now, we get to the last SVU, [Meloni] would have to come back before we do the last episode or before the show signs off.
It would be tricky, because it’s now been eight years since the characters were seen together. So how’d they get in touch? We haven’t seen it. Where has he been? How do you explain that? There are storytelling challenges to it.”
Season 21 of Law & Order: SVU premieres on NBC on September 26th at 10 p.m. ET/PT. ‘

I love Chris Meloni and would love to see him return to SVU. Now if they only would get rid of Philip Winchester and bring back Raul Esparza the world would be a better place. or at least SVU would.

I hope dearly he comes back on the show I just finished watching the 12th season It will give me hope to go through with the next 7 seasons if I knew he will be back on the 21th
I doubt that he will return, save for when they eventually (not for a long time please) shoot the final season.

I STOPPED WATCHING IT AFTER MELONI LEFT THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN MARISKA AND CHRIS WAS SO POWERFUL. YOU COULD FEEL THE LOVE AND RESPECT . I HAVEN’T SEEN THAT ON ANY OTHER SERIES. LOVE MARISKA BUT THEY COMPLETE EACH OTHER. I LOOK FORWARD TO HIS RETURN , THEY WATVHED OUT FOR EACH OTHER. T HEY LEFT SO MUCH TO YOUR IMAGINATION. WE NEED THAT IN THIS WORLD NOW

Yes, I would very much like to see Stabler come back. It would be great to see Benson in charge of him. Perhaps, a love interest? Carolyn.
I would love for him to come back, I dont know why he wont, even as a visit now & again. Sure he has some other stuff going on, none of which I like. What’s the harm in a visit every none & then?
