Leah Remini is moving on. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress’ A&E TV show Scientology and the Aftermath is ending after three seasons.
Hosted by Remini, the unscripted series features former members of the Church of Scientology discussing their experiences and what drove them to leave the controversial organization.
A final, two-hour episode of Scientology and the Aftermath will debut on A&E on August 26th.
From Remini:
We’re exposing so much, but we need to do some other things to bring the fight to a different level. We did not plan on more than a season or two. I always thought it would be six or eight episodes and that would be enough for the FBI, local police and the IRS to start doing something about it — or at the very least revoke their tax exemptions. People kept telling us more stories, and we had to tell them, but there’s only so much you can do in this forum and in this way.”
What do you think? Have you seen Scientology and the Aftermath? Will you watch the series finale?
I have watched this series from the beginning, and I don’t understand why A&E is canceling it … there is obviously so much more to say and so many more stories to tell, and until there are proper investigations being done by the police, by the FBI, and by the IRS, Leah and Mike should be saying it. What’s up, A&E?
So sad this show is ending please put it on another network people will follow. This is something that has to get out to the public to be made aware of. I had a scientologist try to get me involved. What a cult. I feel so sorry for the kids that are born into because of their parents. They are stuck. As well as put into slavery just because the leaders are control freaks Tom C. included. He is deplorable. That is all I can say.
This fight must continue until the cult is destroyed.
Apparently, Scientology has power and influence to keep anyone, a movie star and a television station, from being held responsible for their atrocities.
Very sad to hear this series is ending as it gave such great hope to those who still have families trapped inside this God awful cult. Mike and Leah have gone above and beyond all the while increasing the risks to themselves, family and friends by investigating, exposing the atrocities of this organization as well as educate those of us who know nothing about Scientology with their first hand accounts and we applaud your courage in doing so. I also want to thank those who were brave enough to speak openly on the show and fight for what’s right and… Read more »
I have a brother who’s been in $cientology 40-some years. The Aftermath gave me hope.
They are making a huge mistake canceling the show. So many lifes are in danger. We do not need anymore deaths. Canceling the shows makes Scientology look like they won.
Tremendous work Leah and Mike have done. I was shocked every episode. Thank you for helping so many people and working to put this terrible cult to an end!!
Remini’s humanity and courage go beyond her Talent as an actress I’m sorry the series is ending she has an incredible gift for unearthing the truth and I’m still wondering like she is why the FBI’s doing absolutely nothing
The is the nest docuseries ever. I agree why doesn’t the FBI step in?? What’s stopping them?? Maybe that’s a different show. This is an outrage. I give Remini credit for all the risks she’s taken. She’s one of those great actresses who’s humanity and courage go beyond her talents.
I have also seen this show all the way through. But I checked with TV Guide and the forums and this Finale is not actually scheduled. Wonder why they stopped it?
Just fyi = this Finale showed up today on my TV Guide Watchlist.
I have watched this series from the very beginning and appreciate what Leah and Mike have brought to the attention of people what Scientology is all about. I am sorry to see this series end.
We have watched the show from the very beginning & would like to thank Leah & Mike for sharing their & others stories about the church. We never realized how bad it really was & you have enlightened us about it all & we are grateful. We wish it was coming back on, but you must do what you have to do. Best Wishes
Of course I wouldn’t miss this for anything. I watch all of the episodes on demand on a daily basis. Leah, I Beg you to come back and do a Where Are They Now special every 6-12 months to keep this show alive.
So sad this has to end. I am sorry to see that the US Government are not doing anything. The “church” cult pay way to many peoples and money talk. Thank you Leah and Mike to tell us the truth about what is going on in that organization.
Very disappointed that they are not continuing on with this series. It really opened my eyes. I guess the cult finally paid off A&E.
I believe you are absolutely right the cult is finally paid off and so they don’t stand behind what they say they believe in
