It looks like TNT is committed to airing what they consider more “edgy” content. They’ve renewed their low-rated Legends series for a second season of 10 episodes.
In the same day ratings, the first season of Legends averaged 1.53 million viewers with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers are significantly lower than those of Perception and Dallas — two shows that were recently cancelled.
Here’s the press release:
TNT Orders Second Season of Hit Drama Series Legends
TNT has ordered a second season of its exciting drama series Legends, starring Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings). The show is a key part of TNT’s ongoing expansion into high-quality genre fare, which also includes the summer blockbuster series The Last Ship and the upcoming series The Librarians. Legends is produced by Fox 21, with Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) serving as executive producer. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for season 2, with plans to launch next year.
Legends is based on the award-winning book by master spy novelist Robert Littell. In the series, Bean plays Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division. Martin has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job. But he begins to question his own identity when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t the man he believes himself to be.
The first season of Legends averaged 3.2 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery. When viewing across TNT’s multiple platforms is factored in, the show’s reach jumps to 6.5 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR viewing, set-top VOD and digital on-demand.
What do you think? Do you like the Legends TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a second season?
We just found this show on Netflix and we absolutely love it. We don’t want it to end. We are watching season 1 and we are already hunting for season 2. The best thing about the show is that it’s not filled wth sex and foul language and it is still amazing. We stopped watching TV shows because of all the unnecessary garbage. I only wish this show went beyond 2 seasons. Keep on bringing these great shows you’ve won our attention!
Love the show! Watched first season on Netflix! Keep the show going! SLEEPER! Didn’t know about it except from searching Sean Beans name.
can’t wait for the second season. the show has to go on!
Yes I love this show!
I watched the first season on Netflixs too and loved it. It’s tough to know what’s on at what time when you are looking for something to watch.. I would watch it every week if I knew when it was on exactly each week. I think it’s well written and very suspenseful . I love how the plots are carried over to 3 show’ usually. What day and time is it on and when does season 2 begin? Can someone help me out????????
Great show on netflix and looking forward to TNT bringing Martin back for a second season.
Watched all the episodes in a couple of days on Netflix….waiting for season 2 is going to be tough.
Great show to binge watch
I cannot get enough of Legends, and I am only on episode 6 of season one! I am watching it on Netflix, but I will definitely be tuning into TNT for season 2.
Great on Netflix. Can’t wait till season. 2 !!
I loved it. I will watch all the seasons as long as it is aired.
I just finished watching season 1 and I think the show is great, it is by far the best spy drama i have seen on TV. I am sick and tired of all the carbon copies of TV shows that exist today this show is unique in my opinion. The show is great at hooking you in and keeping you hooked. It’s only problem is that people don’t know about it, I didn’t even know it existed until I saw a commercial for season 2. I am glad they aren’t cancelling it and am looking forward to season 2.
I have just watched the entire Season 1 of Legends on Netflix and I really liked the show.
Love Martin’s (Sean Bean) ability to change into different characters and provide some pretty decent accents with the multiple characters.
Also, I understand he is struggling with knowing who he is, but sometimes Martin’s facial expressions don’t match his tough guy persona. And, love that he can take an ass kicking as well as give them.
I don’t generally watch TNT, but will be watching Season 2 of Legends.
I enjoyed the show, not as drama packed as 24 which is good thing. I vote to keep it.
I think it is a great show I would give it a 7 out of 10. It is much better on Netflix without all the garbage commercials.
