TV show description:
This action drama series reimagines the movie franchise and follows a cop duo as they work a crime-ridden beat in modern-day Los Angeles.
Grief-stricken after the loss of his young wife and unborn child, ex-Navy SEAL-turned-detective Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) moves to California to “start over” at the LAPD.
He’s paired up with Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans). He’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs’ penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique.
When Captain Brooks Avery (Kevin Rahm) assigns them to their first case together, Riggs drags Murtaugh into a high-speed chase culminating inside the Long Beach Grand Prix and a seaport shootout with drug dealers. Despite his protests, the older cop feels more alive than he has in years.
Meanwhile, Riggs gets a glimpse of why Murtaugh is so determined to get home safely at the end of each day — he’s got a wife, Trish (Keesha Sharp), teenagers Roger Junior (Dante Brown) and Riana (Chandler Kinney), and a newborn baby.
Riggs’ life-on-the-edge attitude makes him a priority case for the department’s psychologist, Doctor Maureen “Mo” Cahill (Jordana Brewster).
Rounding out the precinct is Scorsese (Johnathan Fernandez), a pathologist with the LAPD who got his nickname after a stint in film school (which no one will let him forget).
By the time their first investigation ends, Riggs realizes he may have found something worth living for — a partner and friend, Murtaugh. And even Murtaugh figures this arrangement might just work out after all. If only Riggs doesn’t get them killed first.
Episode #55, “The Spy Who Loved Me”
When Cole is investigated by the FBI, Murtaugh is forced to question his loyalty to his own partner. Meanwhile, Cole works a case that puts Natalie’s fiancé, Andrew, into the crosshairs right before their wedding day.
First aired: February 26, 2019
What do you think? Do you like the Lethal Weapon TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on FOX?
true without the actor Clayne Crawford in it, I don’t see the series going on much longer, I read that they fired him over the fact he complained about unsafe work environment, which seems just wrong, if that’s true, someone needs to look into the unsafe working conditions, maybe that’s a good reason to stop the series anyway, without the main stars, its not just like doctor who , in this case you can’t just change the actors and fans will still watch it. I mean they could do like doctor who and change Riggs into a woman too with… Read more »
Love to watch it but if Clayne Crawford isn’t in it you may as well cancel it. He kind of made the show better than the original version. Very rare.
This show is just fun. How can you consider canceling it? I’ve seen Crawford in other shows and he is great. I have no idea how he Is to work with, but there has to be a little give and take. Give him a break, he is a huge part of the show.
Love the show, but the character Riggs is getting old. The chemistry between the two main characters is good, but Riggs is a shallow character. Does he purposely tuck his pants into the same loose fitting boot? Will he ever act like a Los Angeles Detective as in get a haircut or dress better than a homeless guy? Even Mel Gibson’s portrayal showed growth and maturity in the second movie, and by the third movie was in love a third time. Without Clayne, you might as well cancel the show. With out his character growing in season 3, you might… Read more »
The show needs to be renewed, but it won’t be the same without Clayne Crawford. If he dies or really does move to Texas and leaves the day to day part of the show then you might as well cancel it.
Love this show! Please don’t cancel
I just cried when I thought they were saying good bye and now Riggs gets shot, Used whole box of tissue! Love this show. Please renew!!!
My entire family loves this show….. and I have to say I really can’t imagine anyone else as Riggs…. Please do not cancel it!!!
Love Clayne Crawford as Riggs–the slightly off-centered detective who finds a way to solve a case. The whole cast is quite good. I hope it returns for another season.
I love this show and hope it is renewed but if they fire Clayne Crawford then I won’t watch it. He is the main reason I love the show.
My favorite series! Please do not remove Clayne. I know they are having issues getting along but he IS the show. Otherwise it is just another cop show! Please keep the series alive!
It needs to be renewed forever! Love it
Retain entire cast do not cancel this show, Fox seems to have a bad habit of ruining good shows then canceling then, Example: Sleepy Hollow, awesome show, then Fox ruined it, then canceled it
It Needs to be renewed but only if Clayne Crawford. He is best part of show.
I agree, Clayne Crawford is wonderful, My favorite too. It would be awful if you cancelled it. Love the whole cast. Please don’t kill a wonderful show!!!!!
