It looks like OWN has fallen out of love. Deadline reports the network has cancelled Love Is ___ after only one season.
From Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil, the romantic drama explores how a modern “power couple” in “Black Hollywood” balances their professional, personal, and family lives. The cast includes Michele Weaver, Will Catlett, Idara Victor, Tyrone Brown, Kadeem Hardison, Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, and Lana Young.
According to Deadline, OWN has cancelled Love Is ___ amid allegations of domestic violence against executive producer Salim Akil. The series’ first season earned fair ratings for a cable drama, averaging a .26 in the 18-49 demo and 903,000 viewers.

OWN has decided not to move forward with the second season of Love Is _ . The TV memoir was inspired by the real-life love story of married producers Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil.”

I Loved the show Love Is. It was actually a refreshing love story compared to some of the other shows. I was waiting for the second season to come on. I am very disappointed that it is not coming back for a second season. UGH
No no no! Please bring Love Is back! That was my favorite T.V. show. My boyfriend & I would watch this together every week. We found that a lot of the situations the young couple were in was us. The show reminds us of ourselves. We felt connection with the couple. Oh please bring it back, we love it!

I so agree with the majority of the comments – Love is was one of, if not, the best show on OWN. I wish they would not have acted so quickly with the cancellation – understand since the plaintiff had a charge against OWN also. What happened to innocent until proven guilty. I can’t believe the show was canceled. I really love ❤️ this show!! I was looking forward to watching season 2. I went to on demand to look at the re-runs and it’s no longer an option. I’m so disappointed to see this has happened. I don’t have much time for tv because I’m so busy with working and my daughter keeps me busy as well but I made time for this show. Oh wow! So, so, so disappointed that Love Is has canceled season 2. This love series was so inspirational to not only the black community but various cultures and viewers. Please reconsider bringing Love Is back!

I am so upset that the show has been cancelled. I have been checking in periodically for a season 2 premier date only to have my heart broken . Absolutely loved every episode and couldn’t wait til the following week to see what happened next. Please somebody pick this show up!
I really enjoyed watching “Love Is” with my girlfriend. Seriously disappointed that it was canceled. I thought that it was well written and the acting was doggone good. I’ll miss it but it is what it is.
