What’s This TV Show About?
A political thriller airing on the CBS television network, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Bebe Neuwirth, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe. The drama follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals.
Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who exited that post for ethical reasons. She later returned to public life, at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Carradine). He values her apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. Elizabeth is married to Henry (Daly), a former theology professor who is now an intelligence operative. Together, they’re bringing up three children, which can really test her diplomatic skills.
Season Four Ratings
The fourth season of Madam Secretary averaged a 0.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.16 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 28% and down by 26%, respectively. Find out how Madam Secretary stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Madam Secretary for season five? In the 2016-17 television season, this show’s demo ratings ranked 20th out of 26 scripted CBS series, but it drew enough viewers to rank eighth in terms of audience size. This installment will give it a decent sized syndication package, so a cancellation is somewhere between possible and likely. Terrific show–the best show on TV, in the vein of “West Wing.” My husband and I never miss an episode. We hope it is renewed.

I turn on the TV on Sunday only for Madam Secretary. I make sure to be home in time to see it. It is everything good, even good family story line; it gives real food for thought. Please, please renew it!
One of the best series on any network currently. The script and actors have established a constant storyline that creates more and more interest with every show. The writers certainly are in tune with the real workings of our government. It would be real disheartening for this show to be cancelled. Let’s keep the only series that maintains the interest of the viewers and actually has a story worth watching.

This is a great show that gives us a little hope regarding what is going on in Washington. The writing is smart and the acting great. Can’t we keep a decent, thoughtful show that does not rely on salacious, sleazy, disturbing situations to keep people interested?I’m tired of the slime on t.v. Keep this show!

I very much enjoy this show. The writing and acting is smart with a believable storyline. I would hope there are adults at CBS that acknowledges there are adults out here that are starved for adult entertainment. I vote Yes for another season.
This show is one of the most amazing TV shows on air for the past 4 seasons. Its topics are so realistic but, not over the top. I have turned many friends on to it. Would be so disappointed should it be cancelled. The acting is superb and keeps my interest throughout each episode. Thank you for putting an intelligent show on that is relatable.
Renew! I’m addicted to MS; the actors are tremendous and the show closely follows real life DC dramas just slightly fictionalized. My whole family watches!
I enjoy the demonstration of integrity and family values that inspires. Kudos to the actors that makes this show a wonderful experience that makes me want more—-I’m sure I am not alone and don’t want it to end … not for years (many, many years) to come.
