Madam Secretary has some new company. TVLine reports Wentworth Miller and Michael Patrick Thornton have joined the CBS TV show’s sixth and final season.
The political drama follows U.S. Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) as she battles office politics while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals. The cast also includes Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, and Geoffrey Arend.
On Madam Secretary, Miller will be playing Senator Mark Hanson, “a ruthless politician who hates the fact that Elizabeth McCord has been elected president” and Thornton will portray “Captain Evan Moore, chief of staff to First Gentleman Henry McCord.”
The sixth and final season of Madam Secretary premieres on CBS on October 6th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

I love this show even though I’m not a fan of politics (especially current events) but I love how this show has compassion and empathy even in politics! It’s intelligent, humbling, and always displays everyone including foes as human!
I don’t want the series to end. It shines a light on politics and world events and family in a way that needs to continue if we are to get through this disastrous presidency.

We believe the series has proven to be one of the best of it’s kind. We wish it wasn’t ending at all but there could be a continuation with her winning the election and becoming Madam President. But Tea Leoni and the team of Madam Secretary have been astonishing and so wonderful it really does break our hearts to say good-bye.
Have always loved Tea Leoni & hate to see this show end. Stories were always taken from actual events taking place in the world,but SHE solves them showing empathy & making the best of bad situations. Glad she is going out as president, a milestone we have yet to achieve.

I binge watched this on Netflix. I really like the show. It had some real family issues and some behind the scenes that were very believable. The wheeling and dealing, the back stabbing, and the back handed compliments were very believable. You see how the true puppet master of Washington DC play their pawns.
This show is awful! Quick, end it NOW, and put us all out f out misery!
Love this show – really disappointed it’s ending. But please end it with the same elements of hope about our better selves that the series has highlighted throughout.

I hope it doesn’t end and that we get a full spin-off (https://www.change.org/p/give-madam-secretary-fans-madam-president). That’s my preference. I’m confused as to why they would bring at least two new cast members on with only 10 episodes to air. Maybe the ending is all a psych out?
Love this show, common sense actually prevails, what a concept. I’m disappointed it’s ending, but hopefully a very happy ending, and family first, always
