Manifest fans received the news they have been waiting for on this year’s Manifest day, aka 8-28. Netflix has announced the premiere date for the first half of the fourth and final season. After NBC cancelled the show, the streamer revived Manifest for a fourth season of 20 episodes which will wrap up the story. The first ten will be released on November 4th.
Starring Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Ty Doran, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, Holly Taylor, and Daryl Edwards, the Netflix series follows the survivors of Flight 828 who return after a five-year absence.
Netflix’s head of drama, Jinny Howe, said the following about the series and whether season four will indeed be its final season, per Deadline:
“That is the plan currently, at least in terms of whether there will be a satisfying resolution going into the season. By the end of the season, we’ll deliver some answers that’s really, all the questions will be answered.”
The following was revealed about Manifest season four:
Two years after the brutal murder of Grace turned their lives upside down, the Stone family is in shambles as a devastated Ben continues to mourn his wife and search for his kidnapped daughter, Eden. Consumed by his grief, Ben has stepped down from his role as co-captain of the lifeboat, leaving Michaela to captain it alone, a near impossible feat with the passengers’ every move now being monitored by a government registry. As the Death Date draws closer and the passengers grow desperate for a path to survival, a mysterious passenger arrives with a package for Cal that changes everything they know about Flight 828 and will prove to be the key to unlocking the secret of the Callings in this compelling, mind-bending, and deeply emotional journey.

Yay! So glad Netflix have picked this up. A 20 episode season too, so that’s even better.
Absolutely delighted. I missed the show. But my principal question: will it eventually be available on DVD?

Really really excited to see how it ends and very thankful we get a wrap-up season, but I’m wary about the story jumping 2 years. I get why, matching up the death date and such, but with the last episode ending in such a dramatic way it feels very anti-climactic to pick up 2 years down the line. I hope we’ll at least get some flashbacks to see what’s happened in those 2 years?
Like any other show with a time jump, you know they will waste half the episodes on flashbacks to fill in the things that don’t make any sense at all (at least at the beginning of the season) Only problem with that is that they already had to shrink a 6 season story into 4 seasons, since I don’t believe Netflix gave them an option for any additional seasons. Even though the Netflix episodes will be presumably longer than they were on NBC, 15-20 extra minutes per episode might make up for one of those lost seasons…. they still have… Read more »
