The ABC TV show will come to a close with a seventh season of 13 episodes, which will air Summer 2020. The sixth season is currently airing on Friday nights. The two-hour season finale airs August 2nd.

Final Episodes of the Flagship Marvel Television Series Set to Air Summer 2020
Season Six Finale to Air Aug. 2, 2019ABC announced today that “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” the longest-running Marvel television series, will end after seven seasons. The final 13 episodes are scheduled to air next summer. Season six is currently airing FRIDAYS at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and will air its finale on Aug. 2 with a special two-hour episode.
Currently, ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” ranks as the No. 1 program in Friday’s 8 p.m. hour this summer among Adults 18-49 and is improving in its new time period by 14% over the comparable weeks last summer to stand as ABC’s highest-rated series in the slot in 3 years – since summer 2016.“Agent Coulson is one of the most beloved cinematic heroes of our time, and we’re so glad to have spent seven seasons with him and the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as they saved the world from countless unimaginable big bads,” said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. “I am so impressed with the eternally fresh, heart-pounding, and emotional stories the writers and creative team at Marvel Television brought to life that led ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ to be the longest-running Marvel series to date.”
“It will be bittersweet saying goodbye to Marvel Television’s flagship series,” said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel’s head of Television. “Our success is a true testament to the extraordinary fans and we remain forever indebted to them for their endless support. We want to end on a very high note and complete the incredible saga after seven amazing seasons and 136 hours of quality television.”
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Jeff Ward.
Produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” was co-created by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who also serve as executive producers along with Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.

I have watched all episodes of every series .It gets better with each series and will be a sad day when season 7 ends forever.If it’s so good in the ratings why cancel???
I hate to see it end. Why do all the good sci fi shows get cancelled? At least for a change they are going to give it an ending, at least i hope so since they scheduled an end. Too many get abruptly ennded with a cliffhanger. They need yo stop the cliffhangers if they don’t know for sure a show is neing renewed. Actually I wish they would stop cliffhangers altogether. If the show is any good we will come back the next season to watch it without the cliffhanger
Best show ever. Each year a real scenario with seemingly innocuous milestones set little by little but which are intertwined with always surprising turnarounds. Bravo ! And please, don’t stop!
Yes I would have watched a season 8. This is a show that got better and better each season. I will miss it.
I just want to say I appreciate tv is a business, but please take into account that i do not have or watch normal broadcasting. So the only time i get to watch regular tv shows is on netflix. I vote to continue with the series.
I really HATE to see this show end like this. Would be great if it could be moved over to the new Disney streaming service to continue the show.
Please please continue with MAOS my family and I can’t wait for the show each week as it is the best show on TV. We have lots of friends who watch with us here in the UK and it really is an amazing show.
I’m shocked it lasted this long. Usually any Sci-fi type shows I like on network TV gets cancelled after one season. I am older than the target demo, but I became emotionally attached to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team almost from the beginning. The relationships of the crew was genuine and heartfelt. I will miss this series. All I have to watch is “The Blacklist” now. No other network show is worth my investment as of now. Farewell AOS.

I would have watched 10 more seasons of S.H.I.E.L.D.❣️❣️It’s one of my favorite shows, and now, all of my favorite shows are ending… I don’t know what I will do, since I am unable to work. I watch a lot of television and now everything I love to watch is ending
It’s ran it’s course and is time to call it quits!! Why even bother with season 7 if you already know your going to be cancelled??
Lol it was not canceled said season 7 is the final season not because it was canceled the show was not canceled was ending after season 7 and it has nothing to do with it being canceled
The show had to end eventually but, that said, I’m sorry they have decided to close the story. I must admit, ending on their own terms is a better way to end things. I would have watched the show forever… and I believe I am rather careful about what I watch – they have convinced me from the start… nothing to complain about… heck, it’s going to be sad to have this show end.
It has been one of my favourite SciFi TV shows from the beginning. It will be sad to see it end.

One never gets tired of the fight between good and evil, f course so siding with good. I am happy that the show is ending on its own terms because it is the best way possible to end for all involved in the production of the series but personally I would keep watching for as long as the writers had something to say.
