Last season, NCIS was the most-watched show on television with an audience of 19.3 million viewers. Will the ratings drop this season? Will the CBS show ever end? Is it already a lock for season 12? Time will tell.
On NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team of special agents continue to investigate crimes that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Cote de Pablo is leaving the show but the rest of the cast — Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, Sean Murray, Rocky Carroll, and Brian Dietzen — is sticking around.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/13 update: This show has been renewed for the 2014-15 season by CBS.
Final season averages: 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 18.5 million total viewers.

For comparisons: The 10th season of NCIS averaged a 3.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 19.29 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a 12th season?
Bishop is sadly lacking in the personality department ( group wise ) her character is just to far out there ( I like it myself ). Perhaps she would fit better in NCIS New Orleans, since the pilot episode shows us a more relaxed attitude from the characters ( typical New Orleans style, love that city ) Bishop would have a chance to change her manner, the boss would kick her regimented ass into shape, but don’t remove the female ( from the pilot, she is a brilliant character ) just add Bishop. NCIS is still my favorite TV show… Read more »
Please, don’t spoil NCIS New Orleans! Bishop does not fit anywhere on any NCIS series!
I do not think moving her to the New Orleans pilot would help- she is just not strong enough. I took myself out of this misery last night and watched “The Voice”. Frankly I enjoyed it and have no plans to return to NCIS at this point. When I see something done to this lackluster season, I may tune back in. I have no problem with replacing Ziva – I just think it should be done with some thought to the depth of the character and believability in regards to the writing.
This season seems like an anti climax of the previous season, the character Bishop can not blend with the character of the team, especially with tony. Plesase CBS, NCIS its my my favourite TV series. Please bring back Cote !!!
this season is disgrace for the show… after 11 years the writers ruined it the best show ever.. this isn’t about cote’s departure anymore but for the show generally.. bishop is the worst character ever i dont mean emily is a bad actress but she doesn’t fit in the show… unfortunatelly noone can fill cote’s shoes and ziva’s
i wish cote come back but even she doesn’t please get rid of bishop!!
How could you ruin such a great show! Bishop has no personality. She doesn’t mesh with the team. I can no longer watch my formerly favorite show.
I do not like the new blond girl. She just doesn’t fit in with the team or the personalities. Have stopped watching. It was previously our favorite show
Still love the rest of the team. There were so many who would have been a much better choice. We had been fans & watchers since the first episode. Sorry you ruined it.
I don’t know what’s going on at NCIS because after Ziva I don’t watch the show
anymore. I have heard comments about Bishop from my family members & friends ,
not flattering. When Kate was let go, Ziva fits right in . Can you talk to Ziva one more time? If this continue, goodbye NCIS.
Tony please don’t say Ziva made the right decision, without her you guys need a
a four leaf clover , all the luck in the world. Amen
What can I say but everyone is right the show just does not have the IT! factor anymore. The writing this season has been subpar and the new character Bishop just does not add to the chemistry of the cast. I have read that Cote de Pablo decided to leave because of course the CBS executives did not want to pay her what she was worth. They also low-balled the salary of some of the other cast. So CBS must decide if they want the show to continue or is this the last season. Cause in the fan base its… Read more »
I’m not entirely sure why people feel that Ellie Bishop is a bad character. Yes, she doesn’t re-introduce the love triangle that has existed in the past, but her character is less one-dimensional than Ziva’s could be at times. She has spunk and is fun. Fewer people in the audience may be able to connect with her character perhaps. The writing so far this season isn’t as good, with too many dilemmas and situations being introduced without giving a sense of story that actually impacts the characters in a new way. Any show on this long struggles with this: how… Read more »
I’m guessing that the actor that plays Bishop is related to someone with a lot of pull at CBS as the loyalty they are showing an actor that has managed to bring down one of the most loved & highest rating TV shows on the planet (I live in Australian). I have followed the show since the 1st episode on Air Force One and have loved every episode even when the writing hasn’t been great but the current season is for me unwatchable, the character Bishop literally makes me feel anxious/angry and I only wish that the writers hadn’t killed… Read more »
2.2 rating… really!? if the drop off continues, NCIS will be in the ones. has that happened after the first season?
I would like to see Cote de Pablo return to NCIS as guest in the show like some other guests do. You cannot force an actress to do this but I think she might do it if people asked her. The Bishop character has no style.
NCIS is going downhill each and every week. Some of it is the lack of chemistry that use to be there. A lot of it is just bad writing. I am not one of the ones saying bring Ziva back. Obviously she wanted to leave and did it in not so great terms. But the actress for Bishop has no screen appeal and the writers are killing her character. She just does not fit. Seems CBS, or someone is blindfolded and not paying attention to the public. I have yet to have anyone really have a favorable comment about this… Read more »
I agree Bishop is not a good feet after Ziva. They should change her character into more proactive than bait seating on the floor type …
NCIS ads used to say TV’s #1 show, then it was #1 drama, then it was Tues #1, Now I saw one ad saying Tues #1 drama, in other words the bar is getting lower and lower.
Bishop was brought in to appeal to a wider audience, only problem is that audience (18-34) is tuning out faster and faster. Overall viewers are down and younger demo is way down, so Bishop is an EPIC FAIL. so much for that focus group and how every body loved her, etc etc
Totally agree with most comments about bishop she just does not have the personality of either ziva or Kate she needs to go or NCIS could bomb and ratings will drop off the scale
