How rocky is the road for Claire and Jamie during the fourth season of the Outlander TV show on Starz? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Outlander is cancelled or renewed for season five. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the Outlander season four episodes for us here.
A Starz historical, time-travel drama, Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser. The Starz cast also includes Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, John Bell, Ed Speleers, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Cesar Domboy, Lauren Lyle, Colin McFarlane, Natalie Simpson, Kyle Rees, and Tim Downie.
Outlander, season season four, is based on the fourth novel in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlanderbook series, Drums of Autumn. It continues the story of time-traveling 20th Century doctor Claire Fraser and her 18th Century Scots Highlander husband Jamie Fraser, as they try to make a home in colonial America. Meanwhile, back in the 20th century, daughter Brianna Randall (Skelton) and historian Roger Wakefield (Rankin) search for historical proof that Claire and Jamie were able to reunite in the past.
What do you think? Which season four episodes of the Outlander TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Are you happy Starz has already renewed Outlander through its fifth and sixth seasons? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
Love Outlander, White Queen, Black Sails, Power.
the entire outlander series is outstanding – i have read all the books several times over – i find i must watch each episode a few times to fully capture the story essence – i think because they are cramming so much into each episode it is easy to get a bit lost – the variations from the book are very noticeable for the book readers but it doesn’t take away much from the overall story – i love this series and hope it continues to the end of book 8
Season 4 was horrible and it deserves the ratings to be lower then last season because the writing was below the level of a 9th grade average student. Jamie was reduced to nothing more then a prop and a bit of eye candy. Good for nothing other then a dress up doll in 18th Century costume. No attachment to his grandson or his daughter. Just a facilitator for moving the slow, tired, unimaginative, dull story along. I was so disappointed and I don’t think I will bother watching next season.
I wonder about the ratings method since the inception of streaming and offline TV bingeing. I see that the ratings for outlander season 4 finale are up, but that they were down for the season, all from live TV viewers. My question is, can numbers be tallied for all other viewers? I know myself, I have watched all seasons at least three times, and some episodes perhaps 20 times (ok, very obsessed) but that must be a good thing. I cant imagine that I am the only one. My point being that binge viewing, repeated viewing and lets-face-it downright obsessive… Read more »
I love this show and have seen every episode twice since season 1. Season 4 is moving a little slower but I am still enjoying it.
Season one perfect. Season 2 good, but season 3 was terrible overall. Now season 4 would be great if the writers stopped diminishing Jamie’s character and making this show a Claire only story.DG said outlander is a story about Jamie written in Clair’s voice. Writers have made Jamie into Clair’s puppy dog. TV outlander started out as the best show I’ve ever watch, now it’s been reduced to female super doctor. I had so much hope for this show, but after S 1, seems like Ron Moore left the building……
The series really works when the writers stick to the book. I loved episodes nine and 10 because they followed the book.
I have watched from the beginning, and I am finding season 4 to be rather boring. I also don’t think Sophie Skelton is a very good actor, which is making the show less enjoyable for me.
Birds and the bees best episode so far of season 4!!!!!!! I’ve replayed it 6 times so far. I can’t wait til next week!!! I cried and cried…happy and sad tears throughout. Best series ever.
Allowing the shows to be watched early are affecting the ratings if they cannot be counted in the stats. Turn this access off to test this thought. Also, not a big fan of RR after his comments a couple of weeks ago. Others might feel the same. The droughts are way to long which cause viewers to watch other shows and not come back.
I don’t like Roger’s attitude or hairy chest lol, but Jamie far outweighs unappealing Roger, same as when Jamie outweighed Frank and Jack Randall. I hate hate hate droughtlander, but I will ALWAYS return when the new season finally arrives!!!!!!!
Read more »
Loved the Season Opening. As expected both Caitriona and Sam are great actors. Would give the show high rating. Keep the story coming!!!!!
Episode season 4 weakest of all. I know can do better.
Season 4 Episode 1 of Outlander was amazing from start to finish! As a book reader of Outlander, I find the show to be top notch all the way around! I watch on a Starz app and certainly hope that everyone watching via the app instead of tv subsription gets counted! We watch on the app so we don’t have to wait until 8 pm to watch this fantastic show, because we watch and rewatch and rewatch it. This is going to be such an exciting season! My hope is Starz knows how dedicated Outlander fans are and continue to… Read more »
You want to know our thoughts about season four episode one. Mine is that the show again is outstanding. I have read the books twice. So count me as a “ book reader”. The writers, costumes, sets are far superior to most shows I see on Netflix, amazon or Hulu. Just no comparison. The ratings may not be as high because of how we watch the show. I don’t know if you can count people that just watch on a STARZ app on an IPad. That’s me. So how are the ratings figured? Who gets in the count? Just TV… Read more »
