Starz was very happy with the early reception of their new Outlander TV show so they gave it an early season two renewal. The cable channel has often given quick renewals but the series are then often cancelled after two seasons. Will Starz regret giving Outlander a second year order so soon? Would it have been cancelled if they had waited?
The Outlander series revolves around Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945. She finds herself mysteriously thrown back in time, to 1743 Scotland, and forced to marry another man to save her life. A passionate affair is ignited. The rest of the cast includes Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Annette Badland, Stephen Walters, Laura Donnelly, Lotte Verbeek, James Fleet, Duncan Lacroix, Roderick Gilkison, Simon Callow, Grant O’Rourke, Bill Paterson, and Simon Meacock.

Love this show!! I have read all of the Outlander books and it is great to see the characters come to life on the screen. I have not been disappointed in the way they are interpreting the book. That’s probably because they have Gabaldon as a consultant. I think the show is doing great considering that it is being aired on Saturday.
I watch when it is on and then I record it so I can watch it over and over again.
Please do cancel this show, I love it. I have read and re read the Outlander books since 1986 and have watched every episode multiple times. I cannot wait for the next episode.

I hope they renew it every year for each book! I watch each new episode daily while eagerly waiting for the next episode! The costume, the scenery, the plot, the actors…it is one of the best series I have ever seen!

I watch the shows over and over and will be buying on DVD/Blu-Ray if/when they are available! I own every one of tge books, in multiple formats! I ordered Starz SOLELY to be able watch this show! If it gets cancelled, it will be horrendous and Starz will lose me-and probably LOTS MORE-as a customer!
You’re talking ratings for a pay cable TV company…I’d be curious as to how many new subscribers they got in the days and weeks coming up to the Outlander premiere–that’s what pays their bills, because they don’t have advertisers. If Outlander is cancelled, there will, imho, be a defection unlike many networks have seen. Outlander fans are a fiercely loyal lot! If this show doesn’t continue for at least 9 seasons, it will surprise me.
I absolutely love this series. I have not read the books so I’m an absolutely new fan.

It’s my only never-miss show at the moment–and the only one I watch more than once.
Haven’t even been aired in ASIA yet….why would i think it be cancelled ???!!! Oh no!!!…. Continue till the last book !!!!
